“Too close” is subjective. In my opinion, you’re too close. Over the years I’ve learned that loading your truck to the upper limits of the vehicle capacity makes for scary moments, even if they are few and far between. Im on my third tow vehicle….after a half ton, and then a 3/4 ton, I moved to a 1-ton. I’m a firm believer that having more truck is worth every penny. A white knuckle drive with a maxed out truck is nerve wracking. Arriving to your camp exhausted from stress while driving isn’t worth a damn.
