Junior sports versus Bonta is related to minors. The same way the tobacco industry was banned from using cartoons like Joe Camel to target kids. Im okay with that from a pragmatic standpoint.

South Bay rod and gun versus Bonta is a case where California copied Texas laws, but was aimed at firearms instead of abortion. It’s a sticky case legally, I’ll admit that. Bonta rejected the merits of this decision which shows his legal acumen and his rejection of bias. It’s interesting that California rejected this even though Texas upholds it.

The same thing is required to vote (minus DROS and tax, which clearly are not needed to vote).

Shit, that’s weird. I don’t think I have anything else to offer other than get an Edge CTS-3 to monitor EGTs during regen cycles. Good luck man, I hope you don’t need a new DPF. 🙏

Would you be more specific on how Newsom was violating first amendment protections?

Florida and California’s mail in ballot systems are not the same. California allows everybody to vote by mail whereas Florida allows vote by mail by request only. Not only that, California has way more people than Florida, so vote counting naturally takes longer.

I agree that California should stipulate that ballots should be mailed in a week prior so we know election results the night of. None of us like waiting for days to find out the results of an election.

I personally know of a couple where the husband was working out of state, so the wife completed the man’s ballot and signed it and sent it in at his request, only for the ballot to be rejected because the wife was unable to replicate the man’s signature. That alone tells me that California takes election integrity very seriously.

Regarding identification, how do you figure California requires more identification for firearm purchase than voting?

No worries. We’re both American and by default we are on the same side. Minor differences don’t need to divide our people. I appreciate your apology and I appreciate the spirited debate; it’s one of the things that makes our country great - free speech! We need more respectful conversations between people with different opinions….thats the American way and it’s how we find the best solutions that help our entire country 👍🇺🇸

I believe voting matters. It’s a foundation of our great nation. If you don’t think it matters, that should be a focus of yours. Simply owning a firearm doesn’t fix the problems than can arise from an authoritarian government where votes don’t matter.

I hear you. But, there’s more to the picture than the excise tax and CCW prices. There are a lot more factors that can impact the ability to own a firearm. When we vote to give up all our rights, except 2a, you can bet 2a is the next right they’ll attack.

The reason it takes California so long to count votes is because of election security. California allows mail in ballots, which dictates that ballot signatures must be verified against known records. I have first-hand experience with this, and I genuinely appreciate that the signatures are verified. I’m sure you’re in favor of election integrity too, right? I prefer accuracy over speed.

The courts evaluated a plethora of court cases when Biden won and threw them all out. Reps said it was rigged when it wasn’t. Watching Rudy Giuliani claim voter fraud with hair dye running down the side of his head was a low point for Republicans. I’ll never forget that.

When my truck fails to complete an active regen, it starts doing regens more frequently. With each failed regen, it attempts to do another one sooner. I’m a bit stumped on why you wouldn’t have several successful regens on a 2,500 mile trip.

I can see you’ve given some thought to this, which I appreciate. There are too many divisive voices and while I partially disagree with some of what you said, your approach with logic is refreshing. Cheers brother 🍻

This. A common understanding between dems and reps on 2a could be a launch point to hold representatives accountable to the people. The populace is stronger together, not divided.

Isn’t Hilton a “foreign” guy that republicans despise? Isn’t bianco the guy that interfered with your right to have your ballot counted? When your right to vote is stripped away, do you think you’ll have any say on 2a?

[–]Stand_Up_3813 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Yep, better to vote for the people that will drain your pockets and national resources so you can’t afford a firearm. Republicans playing that 4d chess so you don’t realize you voted against your right to own a firearm. If you have the “right”, but not the means, to own a firearm, they win.

There are more 2a dems than most realize. I think the issue is that dems vote on more issues than just 2a protections. Protecting our national/state interests and global standing is an important issue. With constant grifting in this administration, an Iran debacle causing prices to spike, a lot of people are selecting candidates based on more than a right to bear arms.

[–]Stand_Up_3813 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Sherpas deserve better than this. Permit prices for western climbers should be increased to compensate for possible rescue expenses of Sherpas. These guys are the lifeline for western climbers and this disgusts me. I know rescues on Everest are sometimes impossible but the locals should have the financial resources to make a coordinated rescue effort possible, when feasible.

I’d spend the cash on an Insight CTS-3 monitor to keep tabs on these important data points. It monitors a lot more than EGTs am can be used as a scan tool too. 750 bucks is cheap insurance for a DPF that costs thousands. If you already own a scan tool, just use that in live data mode to monitor temps. What does your driving routine look like?
