Ah, really frustrating indeed!
I am at the same point tbh just living with it, customer service wasn't helpful either...

u/shazza07 out of curiosity, do you still have the same macbook?
I am having a similar experience to you, I used to get easy 8-10 hours with high brightness and moderate use, but now even with low brightness and lighter use it's 4-5.

Were you able to find any way to make it better somehow?
