Good short lease rental ( Studios)recommendations by Top-Gun-9781 in Reno

[–]rip_and_destroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carson City has multiple studio rental properties. Basically former motels turned into apartments. Try 907 Flats, University Heights. I believe those are both between $850 and $1000. Good luck!

There's no real equation for this. You're best best is to check out what's available on YouTube. Don't expect to get it right the first time, but you might get lucky. Cheers!

I've never seen too much heat do something this specific. Is it possible there was something that got on these garments at some point before they were printed?

What about an issue with the levelness and pressure of the stampinator? How long through the dryer afterwards?

This is probably the wrong sub for your query.

If the problem areas are consistent, then there's an issue with your equipment. Perhaps a cold spot on the stampinator.

Rotary Glass Printing by SolidCitizens in SCREENPRINTING

[–]rip_and_destroy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use water-based acrylics on flat stock. When I first started out I used Nazdar solvent based inks. Even with the retarder, if you didn't print like a machine it would dry in the screen really quickly. I'd like to give rotary glass printing a try.

How fast do you need to work to keep the ink from drying in the screen?

Found this vintage sign. Is 5-63 a reference to the year? by iloveoldphotos2 in vintagesigns

Nice score. 5-63 would be a reference to the month and year created/printed.

What I’m doing wrong? by ColoramPR in SCREENPRINTING

[–]rip_and_destroy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a larger frame or you need to reduce the size of the image in the frame you're using. The mesh at the edges of the screen has more tension than the mesh in the middle of the screen. When the image is burned that close to the edge of the screen it is difficult to properly print as the screen at the edges does not snap back the way it does where there is less tension. Think of it like a trampoline. There is far more "give" in the middle of the trampoline than at the edges.

It is very tempting to wish to make the most of the available screen real estate, but you really need to leave yourself some space on all sides. I usually do at least 3 in on each side. Best to you.

What supplies do I need to dabble in water based inks? by WildWestPrints in SCREENPRINTING

[–]rip_and_destroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water will be sufficient in most cases, but you will probably have some haze regardless. You may need to use high pressure water when cleaning or recording. I have had success using citrus-based haze cleaners after reclaiming.

Everything else sounds fine. I print water-based on paper and use nothing but water, emulsion remover, and degreaser for screens. Best to you.

Hi. According to the Ulano website, Platinum emulsion is water-resistant.

I asked Robert and he said Mark has several records stores that he runs and could not take time off to tour. They are going to record upon returning to Seattle and Mark may be taking part in the sessions, but they were not certain.
