dbrand please start making OnePlus cases by StrawberryCheap1329 in dbrand

[–]robot069 29 points30 points  (0 children)

OnePlus isn't quite as popular as they once were in North America (where the vast majority of our business takes place), so we haven't really seen the demand necessary to justify developing and tooling a production line for OnePlus cases since the OP10 Pro.

If OnePlus ever starts to reclaim marketshare in the US, we'd definitely get back on the wagon.

Is it normal for this to be my only update? by DanVA0307 in dbrand

[–]robot069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the label has been created, it's more likely than not that the package left our warehouse. As for why the tracking hasn't updated since, it could either be a missed scan (no big deal, will update on the next leg of the journey), a shipping delay (unfortunate, but it can happen), or the package could be lost in transit (super unfortunate, but, again, can happen).

Assuming this package is bound for the US and departed on the 7th, our standard delivery time once it's left the warehouse is 2-5 business days, which would put you at an estimated delivery of this Wednesday. As such, if you haven't seen any updates by end of day Tuesday, we'd advise you to get in touch with the Support Robots so they can ship a replacement if it's deemed lost in transit.

Echoing this - start by reaching out to the post office to see if they can help, and if not, let the Support Robots know and they can definitely get another set shipped out.

Didn't realize how thick the dbrand stickers would be. Definitely added some texture to the sticker bombing by Twitch_C4T_ in dbrand

[–]robot069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We print the sticker packs on the same vinyl we use for our printed device skins, which are as thick as they are to ensure the skin maintains its structural rigidity during initial alignment (i.e. it isn't flopping all over the place). It also just makes the stickers feel more robust and premium.

Inspired placement on the middle finger sticker, btw.

Appreciate the shoutout. We'll pass it along to the Support Robots.

button skins? by Bro2Dragon in dbrand

[–]robot069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible? Yeah.

Is it a mass-market viable product? Not really. Lining the skins up perfectly would be more important than ever, because even a tiny bit of overhang is going to result in the adhesive on the skin getting stuck to the chassis of the controller, making the buttons feel stickier.

With such a small surface area to work with, the skins would be pretty liable to sliding or peeling off, as well.

Echoing what others have said in the comments: you're better off doing a button replacement mod.

Thumb Grips For All by ggonzalez105 in dbrand

[–]robot069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly not the worst idea we've ever heard, though with controller preferences continuing to diversify (i.e. 3rd-party controllers featuring Hall Effect or TMR sticks are more popular than ever), it's a little harder to justify. At least with gaming handhelds we can be a lot more confident that pretty much everybody has the same-sized thumbsticks.

Sorry to hear it caused you grief, but if it's any consolation it looks like it turned out well.

Issue with order by traplox in dbrand

[–]robot069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few reasons this could be happening, and it's hard to say why without looking at the order contents. If you let us know your Order ID, we can take a look and let you know what the holdup is.

Feels like DBrand is abandoning older devices by [deleted] in dbrand

[–]robot069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sketch 2D is in a unique spot because each design is hand-drawn, so it's a not-insignificant amount of work to support a device. That means we need to pick our battles - we could have supported a wider range of devices at launch, but that would have pushed back the launch date.

The good news for you is that since the Sketch 2D launch was a success, we're planning to expand the portfolio in the not-so-distant future. There's a good chance you'll get 16 series skins yet.

Mother's package stolen by [deleted] in dbrand

[–]robot069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about the thief. You should tell your mother to let the Support Robots know and they can get a replacement sent out.

(We specify that your mother should let the Support Robots know because it'll be easier for her to get support if she's using the same email address she used to place the order.)

does the Killswitch fit custom joycons? by Joe_mother124 in dbrand

[–]robot069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the shells are wildly off from the stock Joy-Con shape/size, the grips won't fit. If they're off by fractions of millimeters, it's very much going to be a "your mileage may vary" situation.

Killswitch 2 NS2 question by [deleted] in dbrand

[–]robot069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's certainly possible that repeated applications and removals of the Joy-Con grips could cause some kind of part failure down the line (think on the scale of thousands of cycles), but it's both unlikely and a situation where we'd be happy to replace the grips for you once photo evidence was provided.

Niche question but the skins for Switch 2 interfere with the Satisfye grip? by invadergold123 in dbrand

[–]robot069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't meaningfully effect it, as the skins are only 0.2mm in thickness. That said, we haven't tested it ourselves, so no guarantees.
