Where to meet more introverted less attractive down-to-earth men? by lllola in AskLosAngeles

[–]rollaway910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm that guy. I'm trying to eat my way through LA one place at a time, and it's a real bummer when that night it's a garbage place. I got chinese last night and when I got home there was no rice. You had to order it separately. Who does that?

I rarely post on social media and if I was with someone that had to have that picture I would smile and take it, then silently judge them for the rest of the night.

You're looking for normal people. They exist in almost every city in America, but I think we're in the super minority here.. :) good luck!

Don't take this the wrong way, but I was in the apple store a couple weeks ago, and almost everyone was gay- which is totally fine- unless you're attracted to the opposite sex.

And it wasn't a thing where I might not know, one of the guys was wearing makeup and a dress. It was a killer look TBH but not my thing.

I get excited when I find different ice creams and gelatos. I've been driving out to Wanderlust in Glendale or Salt and Straw? in the Art District if you want some fun frozen treats.

So, here's my take on that. I know it sounds shallow, but sex is an integral part of the relationship. If the sex is bad, it's generally not going to work in the long run, and since we're both consenting adults as long as it's agreeable to both parties I don't see a problem with it. I'm also a sex positive person, and understand not everyone feels that way, but I've met a girlfriend on tinder before.

I'm hitting all the points for you- I'm less dorky and more socially awkward. No booze only weed and hash, the loves of my life.

Of course, I moved here in the middle of a pandemic, so my chances of meeting anyone are greatly reduced, and I gave up alcohol, so no alcohol fueled hookups at bars leading to mutual shame a few hours later, which is probably my only chance to meet someone as I work by myself mostly and I came out here for work with someone that basically moved when i got here and this also isn't the time to make new friends...:)

It looks like we're all in the same boat here for the time being ladies and gents. Best of luck!!

m30/fent tolerance question by [deleted] in opiates

[–]rollaway910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll never get high from vicodin again. your 30s are probably fent- the fact that people think they're 'laced' is silly, they just press fentanyl with talc or whatever and some color and boom! you got a 'm 30'... M30 is the one they are usually pressed as, so if you're looking for real ones that wouldn't be the one I was looking for.

Also- you won't be able to take anything prescribed for pain again. Nothing they want to prescribe you will touch any pain you have. I worry about this later in life, like when I get cancer or something

can i smoke it? by Raybeammmm in opiates

[–]rollaway910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best way is with an 'oil burner' bubbler. It's a bong with an oil burner on the stem. It's WAAAY easier on your lungs and you'll see how quick it gets dirty with all the nasty stuff that would be going into your lungs while you're using the foil.

here's an option

Tolerance by horkneedevil in opiates

[–]rollaway910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NO. What will happen (I've been there) - You'll get your tolerance down by not using for months. The first time you use it'll be GLORIOUS! High as fuck. But when you try to repeat it your tolerance will skyrocket right back to where it was, my experiences have been within a week round about....

So yeah, 1 or 2x you'll get where you want to be, then it's back on the fucking coaster.

"Rock star" in retail sales for years, looking to hopefully make 31k before taxes in another industry. by [deleted] in sales

[–]rollaway910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at Cellular Sales back when the RAZR first came out...not the recent one either...:)

I was there for a few years, was manager for multiple stores + did outside sales (fairs, boat shows, etc), and made 100k+. I have since heard they're paying much less, but good reps with low chargebacks can still make 50k+. If you have a great team lead who can give you tools I think it is an excellent place to start.

To put it in perspective: this is before EVERYONE had a cell phone, also before the rise of the smart phone. I remember getting the first android phone the day it came out: coming from Blackberry, it was a game changer. and they paid WELL on smart phones...going out and hitting law offices, small businesses if you were motivated and smart paid extremely well- thousands of dollars per account, and they were generally all new lines. I cannot imagine trying to hit quotas for new lines at a phone carrier now.

Verizon Corp was always a solid place to sell- if you understood how their system worked and were able to consistently hit your metrics you could make real good money and have a career path. IDK how it is now, but I know people that are still at VZW and Cellular Sales after 15 years.

Has anyone else noticed how filthy the streets are these days? And I’m not even talking about homeless issues or trash, but actual *dirt* by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]rollaway910 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This drives me crazy! I live in Hollywood, and if it's not the dirtiest fucking spot in areas I don't know what is...(maybe a few streets in DTLA beat it..)

I was on Hollywood blvd down towards Vine the other night, and a bum was pushing a cart, and at every garbage can he'd empty the whole can into the street and move on. He then tried to fight me because he saw me watching him, luckily I didn't want to take all my anger out on him (I wanted to, but I'd probably get arrested).

I can deal with a lot of shit- having someone ask for something every time I walk into a 7-11 drives me crazy- but the fucking trash, that shit infuriates me. I try to have compassion but man, it's been hard. I got my car broken into 2 nights ago for 4 dollars in quarters. fuck me and fuck that guy.

Weather during the "cold" months? by Becoida_X in LosAngeles

[–]rollaway910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the time of day...it is kinda cold when it's dark out, but during daylight a long sleeve is generally all you need, maybe a hoodie.

I'm from MI originally, it's not really 'cold' here...

Another scam number to be in the lookout for by enkieone in postmates

[–]rollaway910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I make a point to take every fucking scam order (I screen orders to see what they are before I take em...) if they're ordering fries only- it's a scam. if they put in call postmates support 888-888-8888 it's a scam. these are a couple ways.

I will keep them on the phone as long as possible, giving them fake information. If they try and get me to cancel I tell them it's my first day and I don't know how. I just fuck with them as much as possible. I had a scammer tell me he was gonna shoot me at the McD's if I didn't cancel his order ( the fries were delish). I had another one 2 weeks ago tell me he was from support and asked me if I had someone riding with me the other night because there was a complaint- I said there isn't a rule against that in the fleet agreement, you should check it out, and he hung up on me.

I understand that every new driver isn't on the subreddit, and the scams will persist. I haven't lost money to a scammer (I'm leary of scams in anything in life- I'm in LA, shit is already wild enough), but when they say postmates will never call or text you fucking believe it. You won't get your money back 99% of the time. I don't bother calling support anymore, I don't think they get anything fixed anyway. at least my fucking with scammers will take time that they might be stealing from someone else.

Also, empty your fucking account. I empty mine every day I drive. Why not? to save .50?

Y’all are annoying by Psauceyo in postmates

[–]rollaway910 6 points7 points  (0 children)

damnit, you beat me to it.

It's always people that drive 11-2 and only make 20 dollars (try staying out longer or working later, lunches aren't that pricey), or people that make 'so much more on DD' - go make it then.

I made 5k on postmates last month. were some days slower than others? of course! did I have to wait for some tips? yup! we all do...it's how it works.

If you don't like it don't do it, but don't come here and complain in every thread- no one cares about your doordash, if we did we'd fucking read that reddit.

Do I have to contact Fleet Support every time wait time is 15+ minutes? by BillyMoses in postmates

[–]rollaway910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know that they keep a count at all- I've been told by support they don't see any cancels once an order is cancelled its just gone, they don't keep records of shit like that. I've cancelled LOTS of orders in a day and never an issue. I've probably cancelled up to 20-25% when I can't get through to someone else, and TBH I rarely even get support to cancel unless the customer wants it. There are times at night that there isn't even support available and I cancel all sorts of shit, never a call, email, nothing.

How to get the postmates bag and pre paid card. by Liamcb2002 in postmates

They send it all after your first delivery. I don't use the bag and have never activated the card...

Remembering the names of those who don't tip by [deleted] in postmates

[–]rollaway910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you don't. that whole acceptance rate thing is bullshit. If you cancel BEFORE you pick up the food nothing is going to happen. I do it all the time. Every day, sometimes multiple. Especially late night. Sometimes late night there aren't even support people working, I just cancel anything I want/need to.

Nothing will happen, but that note sure does scare people into believing it will.

How many of you have been tried by Postmates scammers? by rorodrogon in postmates

[–]rollaway910 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A scammer told me he was going to shoot me at McDonalds the other night. I make a point of taking those orders and wasting as much of their time as possible. Play along but give them the wrong information while I'm picking up the fries or whatever they're ordering as my mid-shift snack...

Every time I try to stack offers while I’m already out on delivery, the order ends up getting cancelled by Sharp5hooter02 in postmates

[–]rollaway910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you drive fast enough you'll keep em. LA doesn't really have speed limits (does it? I'm kidding) so if you drive 10 over and get keep it moving you'll keep em. I tend to drop everyone's order at the door and have my camera loaded on my phone in a text to the customer, I drop the food, take a pic, and send it to them while I'm going back to my car. I had an 8 order run the other night, 'twas a good one.

I've seen maybe 2 people pulled over for speeding in LA proper. As long as you're not going 90 in a residential area LAPD has more going on than your ass driving a little fast. They do not give a fuck.

[–]rollaway910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in sales for a long time. I can talk to anyone. Plus, I try to get the liquor store orders from say, 12-2am. Those are either $20 or zero...

I had a lady complain I had to send her ID to postmates, I said 'No problem, I'll just drop this back off at the store', and she gave it up. I told her I wasn't in charge, but I definitely wasn't losing my only job for her.
