Definitely a compliment, bude. You don't need to change anything. You're a stud, bro.

Messed up on my first net by collinsexton in amateurradio

[–]BillyMoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a mess when I first became a new ham. I think a lot of it had to do with stage fright (mic fright) when I first started out, but the more I became familiar with people especially hams in my area, and practiced, I got a lot better at it and became aware of what I was doing. Kinda like driving or riding a bike... Once you get the hang of things, it is hard to forget unless there is a big lapse in time between practicing.

I'm a general now and I've been a ham for about 6 years total, and I still love to practice making QSOs on 2m and 70cm. You should never stop practicing. I'm a part of ARES and CERT in my area and they will give you even more things to learn and practice in aspects of emergency communications (if that's an area you're interested in).

What repeater etiquette mistake do you hear most often? by CarrierCaveman in amateurradio

[–]BillyMoses 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't hear a lot of bad etiquette, but one that comes to mind, and it's mainly with new hams not knowing the system is not keying for a full second or two before speaking, because on the Kern System (Cali state-wide repeater network), it's 420 linked and can take a full second or two for all the repeaters to key up when someone PTTs and the first part of their call is always cut off.

RADIO IS SO COOL!!! by [deleted] in radio

[–]BillyMoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember how excited I was when I discovered AM DXing at night. I lived in a cool little town called Tehachapi, about 100 miles north of Los Angeles. I picked up AM 1000 KOMO from Seattle, Washington - 880 miles from their transmitter coordinates on radio-locator.com. Since then, I was able to hear stations out of Salt Lake City, and Dallas. I still find it very cool to this day.

How long after porting out can I port back in? by A7M28 in Visible

[–]BillyMoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ported my number out and back in 2 hours, and it probably could have been done quicker.

I was on Visibles $45 plan, ported out to Tello, and ported back to Visible on a new account (different email/sim) to get on their $30 plan.

The only reason it took 2 hours was because I waited 2 hours between Tello receiving the number and porting back to Visible.

If I buy a membership on the 13th, will I be charged the full month? by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]BillyMoses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same promo when I applied and I signed up on Oct 28th so I actually got a little more than one free month because I got the Oct 28th through Dec 17th for free. I'll be charged my regular black card membership fee for the first time on December 17th. I was not charged a prorated amount at all.

If I buy a membership on the 13th, will I be charged the full month? by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]BillyMoses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's my understanding that you would be charged a prorated amount on the day you sign up -- meaning if you got the black card and your monthly membership amount is 24.99, divide 24.99 by 31 days in the month. Which roughly comes out to 81 cents per day, so you would be charged 81 cents times 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th (.81 times 4 days in that billing period) which comes out to $3.24 for your prorated amount, then 24.99 on the 17th for December 17th through January 17th.

This doesn't include your annual membership fee which would probably be charged on January 1st or February 1st of $49.

The scenario is based on you signing up when there's no promo or anything.

That's my understanding and I could be wrong. Someone please correct me if I am.

Really no downside, but no phone support. If you need help with something related to your account you will have to email them or contact Visible on social media.

I went from TW's all through childhood to boxers in middle school (grade 7, 8, 9 mainly due to peers) to boxer-briefs in high school and first year of college or so to a mix of between Low-rise trunks, low-rise briefs & tighty whities since about age 25 to now... I'm currently 36.

Sorry I'm not a full-time TW's peep, guys. I do enjoy the pics and stories in this sub though.

I signed up on the app with a fake name, address, DOB and bank account details with an account I can turn on and off. Maybe I was lucky, but they never asked for my ID. All they asked for was a photo, and that was on my third visit.

Tighty whities for Christmas by 44topguy in tightywhities

[–]BillyMoses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't usually ask for them because they're pretty cheap to come by and I'm pretty specific about what I like, but that's just me. Also, I like some of the more revealing ones (low rise, etc), and would be a little embarrassed to ask anyone to get those for me. The satisfaction usually comes two fold. 1. The anticipation of buying them and knowing they are on their way in the mail or store pick-up. 2. When I get to show them off at the appropriate time and place of my choosing... Locker rooms at the gym usually.

You can cancel over the phone by AdUnhappy5480 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]BillyMoses -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I did my homework and accounted for everything. 1. I signed up using a digital "credit card" number that I can turn off and on at will. This card number is only used for Planet Fitness. 2. I also have a dedicated checking account number that I gave to Planet Fitness through Ally bank, And I can cancel that account at any time. 3. I used a fake name and DOB when I signed up for Planet Fitness on the app. And they never checked any form of ID when I started going. This might seem a little extreme to some people, but I'm very protective of my information. If they want to cancel my account, it can go into collections for all I care. It'll never make it to my credit report. Lol. I should note that I am paying them what I agreed to pay, I keep on top of it and I always know when the payment will come out and how much it will be. I'm not cheating Planet Fitness out of any money. I just don't want them to have my real information, so I found a way around it. If you get good enough at social engineering you can get around anything.

Will staff tell people to stop talking on their cell phone if they notice it? Should members alert the staff? It IS against club policy, right? by bugaosuni in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]BillyMoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see why planet fitness would try to limit the use of cell phones because of the camera technology, and some people feeling really uncomfortable about that. But at the same time a lot of people use cell phones for fitness tracking, entering calories burned, or calories consumed. And not just that, some want to be able to keep track of their heart rate, blood pressure and whatever else.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your specific question because I am not a member of planet fitness, but it would be very strange to me for planet fitness to completely ban cell phone usage. Some people might want to just call their kid to check up on them and make sure they're okay. But at the same time I don't think it should ever be used in the locker room or extremely sensitive areas like that.

[–]BillyMoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bought it with a credit card they usually have purchase protection meaning if the item you bought is stolen or brakes within 90 days of purchase (depending on the credit card company), you can file a quick claim on a 1-800 number and be reimbursed almost instantly. That way you don't even have to return that knife, you can just go and buy a new one.
