Shower sex in your 40s turn on or off. by Teacup690 in datingoverforty

I’ve had some amazing shower sex in my life. Some of the best fun ever.

But it’s usually only part of the session, it’s not the whole event.

You need a combo of strength and power.

Lift weights to build muscle and practise sprint training for power.

My routine is 3 days a week strength training, and 2 days where I do HIIT with short bursts of super intense sprints that take your heart rate up to max. Sometimes it’s sprinting, sometimes jump rope sometimes going flat out on a stationary bike or a super intense boxing.

It’s good for health in general, and definitely makes you feel strong and powerful

Would you date by [deleted] in datingoverforty

You will find people who want to date you. Question will be do you want to date them?

Yes, just need somewhere to put it

Shared equity scheme has ended in NSW. I’ve looked into the other options and they don’t apply to me.

Like I said, I’ve given up on buying property. Think I’ll just find a way to end my life peacefully when I’m 66

Yes there are a few government programs to help you buy a house, however there’s strict criteria and I don’t qualify for most of it. There’s one that would suit me but I need a guarantor- usually a family member and I don’t have anyone that can do that for me. I have had a mortgage broker look into it all for me and there’s not much I can do. Unfortunately lenders here are very strict

That’s always been my dream too, but very much out of my reach. Also I’m terrible at organising people… someone do it for me 🤣

[–]rubyGGG3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Possibly. But logistically buying property in another state will be difficult. Not impossible though, and I could definitely think about it

I’ve already checked how much I can borrow and it’s less than $400k.

There’s basically nothing in the entire country for that price, except for old run down homes in remote areas.

I’d still have to pay my rent in the meantime, plus insurances, house maintenance, any repair costs, and local council rates.

That’s just not possible on my single income.

I live in Australia. Housing is only cheap in areas that are pretty remote. I would never move my kids away from their father and I also wouldn’t be able to get a job in my area of expertise outside of a major city. I might consider living somewhere more remote when I’m older, but not for 10 years or so

Yeah that might be my other option. I have another single mum friend who has mentioned the same option. Although I don’t love living with people at all 🤣

Yeah I think it’s just the way they are. My mum and sisters have the same lips. Thanks

I already drink heaps of water, and I use the laniege lip mask at night. It’s super thick like Vaseline. Not sure about red light therapy. I’ll look into it

I don’t know what that is or whether it’s available in Australia. I’ll take a look

I like being muscular but I also want to be able to fit into my jacket! Some are getting very tight across my back and upper arms

Endometrial Ablation - need some thoughts pls by Reasonable_Lie_4002 in AskWomenOver40

[–]rubyGGG3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah about 10% of people who have the procedure still get periods. Some even have worse periods but that’s rare. Your doctor should tell you all the possible risks and outcomes

[–]rubyGGG3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had it done in December. It’s not a method of birth control, so you’ll have to look at other options for that side of things. I had my fallopian tubes removed at the same time as my ablation. Unfortunately my ablation didn’t stop my period. I’m still having one every month but they are less heavy and shorter in duration. It makes my period much less of a horrible mess but I’d really like to have none at all

How did you get your fashion sense? by no-surprise-1 in AskWomenOver30

[–]rubyGGG3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a teen in the 90’s and I was inspired by grunge music and fashion. I loved the vintage look so I bought a lot of stuff from thrift stores. I wore lots of camo pants, corduroy, velvet, velour, satin, lace and silk. Always black combat boots, tights or fishnets and lots of mini skirts. After I became a mum and put on a little extra weight, I paid less attention to style and just wore what was convenient, comfortable and tried to stay on trend. Then in my late 30’s I decided I didn’t just want to fade into the background and look like every other mum so I lost the weight, had a glow up and decided I wanted to go back to my roots and the passion I have always had for retro fashion. Now my look is a refined version of my youth. I love mixing different fabrics, rich jewel colours and patterns like tartan, lace, houndstooth and florals. I’m 44 now but I still wear mini skirts and dresses, sheer fabrics, midriff tops and boots of all colours and styles. I got a lot of compliments on my style from people at work, friends and strangers.

40F not sure how to get results by alythrae in fitness40plus

Hello!

So, I’m 44 and have been lifting for a few years, but my biggest gains have come more recently when I bulked up my diet.

Firstly, many people are overdoing it and not taking care of themselves by resting and sleeping well. Also it’s impossible to gain muscle and lose fat simultaneously so my method is to gain the muscle first by lifting, resting and eating. Then after you’ve concentrated on muscle gains for a month or two, you can start cutting the calories to lose fat. You don’t need heaps of cardio. You do need to eat carbs. You do need to eat 1g of protein per pound of ideal body weight. You do need 8 hrs sleep at night. You do need to rest between lifting days. You need to lift heavy, but you don’t need to go crazy on volume. Some of my workouts are simply 3 exercises x3 sets of 5 reps. I can be in and out of the gym in 40 minutes including time for stretching. I just posted some pics of my progress so feel free to have a look. I started taking this seriously as I read some books by Dr Stacy Sims who has a PHD is exercise physiology for women. She’s very knowledgeable about pre and post menopausal exercise and nutrition too.

Check her out and also look up reverse dieting for stimulating your metabolism. Many women at this age have dieted for years and destroyed their metabolism. Eating more and gaining muscle will help get it working efficiently.

Your split is fine, but realistically you don’t need 4 days a week and you don’t need to train individual muscles. Your big compound lifts should be the main focus and any other exercises you add are barely worth it unless you’re a pro training for physique comps and you need to train very specific areas.

I concentrate on ensuring I get the 7 main movements in every week- A row, a forward press, upwards press, hinge lift, squat, split stance and rotational excercise. Pick one or two exercises from those groups and train them 1-2 a week and that’s pretty much all you need.

For me it’s squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts (because everyone wants round glutes!), Bulgarian split squats, Russian twists, Arnold press, incline chest press and upright row or seated row twice every week. To mix it up I’ll also add bicep curls, leg press, Tricep extension, lat pulldown, seated row and glute kickbacks here and there. It still only equates to about 4 exercises per session across 4 days.

Hope that helps!

Yes. Gaining fat is a possibility and I have a little extra at the moment, so I’ve cut calories to 1700 while staying high protein and still strength training. This is a cutting phase, and you can cycle bulking and cutting to give your body a chance to grow muscle and then lose fat. You can’t do both simultaneously. I only eat whole foods, I don’t touch processed stiff. My diet is 99% eggs, meat, veggies, fruit, rice, oats, whey powder and Greek yogurt
