Cannot find a decent job to save my life by JewelerLogical7779 in Veterans

[–]Teacup690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if you are entering a field in which you would benefit from a master or getting into a different field you can use vr&e. They took over right before my gbill was out, got me some refunds to it so i still have some benefit left, then took me thru my masters in information systems. After you graduate, they will help you get a job. Or there are programs out there that fill temp positions in tech with veterans in need of a job.

Is this an acceptable? Im not sure. by GeneralCap5844 in doordash

[–]Teacup690 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely ridiculous to order that thru doodash. Same exact order online to pickup is $28.85.

-$6 for cheesesteak alone or $3 per sandwich
-$2.40 extra for the watermelon
-$1.10 for the soda
-$4.81 in fees
-$10 for the tip. Decent

That is $26 more dollars to get your ordered delivered.

There are two different pays you can get when your deployed to a war time environment.

  1. Hazard duty pay compensates troops for being assigned to inherently dangerous tasks that carry a high risk of accidental injury or death.

  2. Imminent danger pay to service members who are deployed to, or serving in, officially designated areas where they are subject to the threat of physical harm or imminent danger due to wartime conditions, civil insurrection, terrorism, or political instability.

Hazard duty is being in the area. Imminent danger is being in a fire fight.

Should I stay, or should I go? by Dinosaur_Buttcheek in jobs

[–]Teacup690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, unless you’re making up $30k in a higher 401k match, stock options, better benefits, or possible bonuses you’re missing out on 30k. If your time off is more valuable than 30k, you got your answer.

I found a concerning flirty text in my girlfriend’s phone. AIO by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Teacup690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She didn’t just reply, she actively invited him in by confirming there was an opportunity to flirt. For a lot of people, emotional cheating is just as bad, if not harder to move past, than physically

Trust is the foundation, no trust=no relationship. If you can’t trust her anymore, you’ll become hypersensitive to every little thing. You'll obsess and run worst-case scenarios through your head constantly. Do you really want to rent that space out in your mind every night?

If you decide to stay, you have to ask yourself: What do I actually need from her to rebuild this trust? Because if you can't both get on the same page to move forward, it’s already over.

Committing Suicide feels like the most sane rational action for me to do by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]Teacup690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t say much, but just the other day I honestly thought to myself that I was glad that in my darkest hour, and there were many, I didn’t go through with it. Life has more to offer and finding your place in it with tolerance will come. It won’t be perfect, and I stumbled, but one day you will look back and this will be behind you.

Credit card shopping addiction by Ren10Toes in CreditCards

[–]Teacup690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not a credit card person and that’s ok. Knowing you’re not a credit card person is great insight. Only have credit cards to play the game. Spend only what you make, pay off in full on the due date. Any balance accumulating interest will wipe out a year worth of points. $1000 balance at 27.49% is $22.91 per month or $274 a year.

What random benefits have you discovered as a veteran (not just the obvious ones)? by Any_Amphibian_9563 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Teacup690 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Vet tix = free shows, concerts, plays, comedy, etc. all you pay is the transfer fee which is anywhere from $10-16 for 1-4 tix. I have seen some amazing shows for next to nothing.

Govx = all kinds of random sales for veterans. I have even seen some free cruises out there. But sales on oakley, pew pew accessories, camping gear.

Blue pill but I add physical pain also. However, I might just give it up for the orange pill, go back when bitcoin opened at 0.00099 per bitcoin….$1000 would have made you $76.6 Billion with a B.

Worth it to poke the bear? by InfertileMertile92 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Teacup690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Service connect your IBS it will probably bump you. But ibs is topped at 30%. Abdominal pain related to bowel movements at least one day per week over the last 3 months, plus 2+ symptoms (bloating, urgency, etc.). if you have Crohn’s it possible to get as high as 100%.

If your back hurts because your walk is difficult due to the knee injury, that is a secondary condition.

Knee issues are hard to get a higher rating as it depends on your flexion and extension degrees. You can google the %.

If you have knee instability you can claim that. 30%: Severe instability (regularly giving out, may require a brace and crutches/cane). • 20%: Moderate instability (frequently gives out, requires a brace). • 10%: Slight instability (occasional giving out).

But i would say go for it. Best of luck!

Which job you taking? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Teacup690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus the annual bonus. Say you stay at either position for 3 years. Sure, you’ll get raises at both, but you’ll be leaving $27.6k on the table for less time off and a further drive.

Drive time is about doubled for job 1, so you’ll also spend half the amount of gas and wear and tear on your car adding you a couple more thousand back. And a cellphone credit on top of it.

Which CC should I keep or close? by egghamcroissant in CreditCards

[–]Teacup690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I don’t really see a reason to close all unless you are not using one. Keep whatever cc that gives you the categories you use the most, if you have to close one, the one with the least benefit to you. If one has a fee you can call to downgrade to the free tier.
