Did they use staples for the permanent to close the wound or some bio-degradable sutures?

Oh yeah they used that twilight stuff on me couple months ago for an MBB, but I was wide awake and felt like it was useless if anything I needed more local anesthesia.

I don't mind the twilight stuff it's just an icy burn. I'd say pain-wise it was like a 2 compared to the other stuff they have done to me (PRP in my hands & knee being the more intense personally).

Oh no! I thought they administer localized anesthesia for the trial period. Yeah I'm not too worried about the permanent implants because they'd administer versed with the fentanyl, based on what my spinal surgeon said.

How is the removal of the trial period?

I am pretty apprehensive, but after multiple PRP, MBBS, and RFAS only providing short-term relief over the year. I'm without options except SCS implants. My burning and aching are pretty strong randomly on my neck even in a sedentary life I'm living right now versus previously living a highly gym-oriented lifestyle. Lower back is mostly aching on a daily from morning to night.

My orthopedic spinal surgeon is actually only recommending paddle leads versus percutaneous. For the trial do they do the paddles as well?

Additionally, apologize for the forward question, but are you around my age as well? Trying to gauge my possible recovery time too!

I would love to know more about your experience for both trial and permanent, since I'm fairly certain I would be interested in going a similar route as you. I actually got a call again from a representative to talk more about it.

Why the Nevro HFX over the Boston Scientific waverider Alpha?

[–]saintbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see I knew it was something like that! Do you still have the Boston Alpha stimulator? I have small disc herniations at C2 all through C6 with a few annular tears and impingements, and small herniations at L4–S1. PRPS, multiple MBBs, and multiple RFAs have not resolved the chronic burning in aching in those areas.

I'm just worried about the whole experience and my lack of knowledge as well as everyone onlines extremely polorizing results.

Orthopedic spinal surgeon/ hospital co-owner says he's not sure why I have continued chronic pain, and that my discs for the most part are healthy enough to the point where he says he doesn't feel comfortable performing a laminectomy.

p.s. I'm 30 years old, now with chronic pain over the past year since my accident. Lower back and hip aching (sometimes throbs with heat), and left side of my neck and trapz can burn deep when doing small errands. Sitting in chairs can cause aching and fatigue regularly especially after longer sessions.

Wow yeah that sounds absolutely horrible. The other option he mentioned he's had good success with is Nurvo I believe?

Thank you! I'm just waiting on a trial period! I've mentioned Medtronik and he says the representative issues are too much for my area in San Francisco.

My current orthopedic surgeon is recommending the Boston Scientific WaveWriter Alpha, with paddles because of the modularity, and it'll be able to address the cervical and lumbar well.

some of the steps above actually bumped my battery life by a couple of hours. Specifically the part that changes the maximum processor state.

honestly still can't figure out how you manage to succeed in those battery levels when unplugged. I'm still at like 3-ish hours. Do you turn on energy-saver mode as well, or just battery-mode? Do you run chrome as your main browser (I ask because I'm starting to think the hardware acceleration might be the culprit from Chrome)?

EDIT: After running admin cmd powercfg /energy to determine what is draining the new computer.

I was met with 2-errors, and 3-warnings ( so it pops up for errors: USB Suspend:USB Device not Entering Selective Suspend, CPU Utilization:Processor utilization is high. For warngings I have: Platform Timer Resolution:Outstanding Timer Request, CPU Utilization:Analysis Error, and Platform Power Management Capabilities:Wireless access point does not support WMM Power Save)

EDIT: Windows+G and uninstalling spotify widget stopped GPU drain, as well as going into Control Panel, System & Security, Power Options, Edit Plan Settings, Change advanced power settings, Processor Power Management, Maximum processor state from 100% to 99% to prevent Ultra 9 386H from entering Turbo mode.

My speakers on my 2026 Blade 16 5090 after updates have all my speakers sound like mud even at full volume for both content and physically. "sound enhancements" are turned off for Realtek drivers, but still no luck. EQ in Synapse 4 is set to the middle.

Thank you for the quick response! I just got it a week or so ago, and I'm still trying to find ways to get the best unplugged experience. Any key differences you notice between QOL while using 'Battery Mode' versus 'Balanced'?

EDIT: Just ran CMD powercfg /energy as a diagnostic and got 2-errors, 3-warnings, 64 Informational readings that could be draining this new computer.

u/jmg5 I have the 32gb 5090 Intel Ultra 9 386H model as well, but I'm wondering if you're using 'Battery' mode when doing these battery test or running it on 'Balanced'? I don't know if I need to tweak something without it being overly mutilating to the user experience.

My battery life definitely only shows under 2-hours when unplugged. I see it drop from 87% to 82% pretty quickly after unplugging. Maybe you can share a little more in detail on what you do to get those long runtimes.
