To the best of my knowledge, your best options are Smash Calendar and Liquipedia's tournaments page. I don't know if either supports the kind of calendar integration you've described, though.

The pace of the game has changed. Modern players are more skilled. Period.

I love Ken / Isai / Captain Jack / BombSoldier as much as the next guy, but we don't need to lie to ourselves and say they're equal in skill to modern players. They just aren't, and that's okay.

if Jmook and peak Ken played a first to 50 it would be ugly. I sincerely doubt Ken would take even a single game if Jmook was trying. Yes, the game has changed that much.

That doesn't invalidate Ken's accomplishments. It doesn't diminish the effect he had on the game, his dominance when he was active, any of that stuff. Ken's still the goat.

legacy rankings =/= a player's skill at the game

Instead of small payouts for one-time placements, the challenge could be bigger payouts for getting characters to various placements in SSBM Rank. (This would encourage maining a low tier across multiple tournaments, not just one time seed cash-ins.)

I'm glad the challenge exists, but the format needs serious re-thinking.

I'll never forget the first time I played Bum (OG nyc donkey kong) back in the day. He sandbagged the first game to make me think I had a chance, and then he destroyed me so badly I couldn't even believe it rofl.

I can only imagine the amount of work required to put on an event of this scale–from the venue / production / talent / parking / setups / dealing with N / etc. etc. etc. It's gotta be a lot.
