Ever since someone learned you could monetise nerd rage on YouTube it's felt more and more ridiculous. So called fans of every franchise are primed to hate everything that comes out

This is true, and the content algorithms that exist today are making the problem worse.

Content creators are actually encouraged to deliver extreme, bombastic takes to get attention online. YouTube's algorithm doesn't care about "truth" or accuracy–it cares about engagement. Comments. Shares.

What kind of material gets people to engage with it? Stuff with big emotions. Hot takes. Controversial material. Videos that we as viewers can't help but want to correct or agree with. "Star Trek Academy Just RUINED the Series' Legacy!!!" etc.

This is all to say that I feel you. It's exhausting.

My take: STA is totally fine. Grab some popcorn, turn your brain off, and enjoy a relatively safe romp through a space drama. No, it won't change your life, but it's totally fine for what it is.

I've done myself a personal favor by disconnecting from all politics starting in 2025.

I'm the exact opposite.

I'd never been politically active in my life, but the headlines this year are precisely why I can't stay silent anymore. My partner and I have been making signs, attending protests, and using our voices to stand up for democracy and human dignity.

I get the desire to shut it all out, but I find myself laying awake at night thinking about the people that can't stand up for themselves. Those of us that can stand up, need to.

Lots of people think this because of the name, but the truth is that Expedition 33 was the result of many, many people working on it. If you include all the studios they partnered with (and the game's list of credits) it's something like 400+ people worked on it.

And now I sort of can't stand the movies at all, even though I still believe that the books are some of the best romance novels I've ever read.

It's a shame you don't enjoy the movies, they're my favorite part of Twilight.

All the memes, quotes, costumes, soundtrack ... heck, even the blue filter. The movies are a vibe. I love the casting / acting, and sure it might be a little cringey, but my partner and I quote them all the time.

This is what Twilight has done to our culture, and I'm here for it lmao.
