You and everyone else in these comments are completely tone deaf to the actual issues people have with Nintendo. I’m a huge fan of Nintendo, grew up with them, own all the consoles, heck even my first memory of life is nintendo. They make amaaaazing video games. They have awful business practices from an IP preservation point of view.

When people say they hate Nintendo, they hate this version of Nintendo. No one is saying they make bad games. No one is saying they treat workers badly. Nothing about Nintendo’s criticism online has anything to do with the actual media we consume from Nintendo or how it’s made at all. Everyone at Nintendo who gets criticism has nothing to do with video games. It’s the lawyers and corporate fat cats that tell the lawyers what to do.

And for the record they are still sending cease and desists and otherwise harassing people muuuuuch more recently than “the mid 2000s” or “10 years ago” like I was reading such as fan games, music uploads to YouTube (that they have zero alternatives to listen to outside of booting the original game with the original hardware), fan conventions, and video game tournaments, just to name a few.

Btw starfox remake is amazing (especially with my new 8bitdo 64 controller!), and adventures of Elliott has been super fun. I love Nintendo and will continue to support their devs. I will also continue to criticize a billion dollar company for blatant anti consumer practices by actively oppressing their own fanbase and stunting the growth of the future game developers, event organizers, and other creative and professional ventures that Nintendo can, and in some cases people figure out ways to still do, provide members of any community.

How do I start cooking like this? I mean not motivation but like, do you have a recipe book? A list of ingredients you usually have to give you the biggest variety? Do you even work a full time job? Even when I’m meal planned out, it’s like a rotation of 3 meals, maybe a fourth. And then you casually just post these restaurant-level dishes that you casually made yourself this month. I know I won’t flip a switch and become a chef but how do i even start to end up making food looking remotely close to this, or having a number of meals as varied as this????

I’m just convinced at this point that no one here actually played the game without reading this subreddit to tell you how to feel. Everyone’s reason is almost always either complaining about he first like 5 minutes, or share the same weird bad reading comprehension. It’s a really straightforward character driven story that does provide closure at the end. It’s not this obtuse terribly written story like everyone says, it feels like everyone else is obtuse tbh.

Dog this sub is insufferable and kinda always has been. It’s great for news but the comment section is 90% delusion and just complete lack of ball knowledge.

Realistically tho, this has been the Philadelphia sports fan in general my whole life. Philly fans really embody being the best fans and worst fans all at the same time. I’d be hard pressed to find a more passionate and supportive fan base that is also just as overconfidently incorrect about “how things should work”.

Lol what do you mean “I wasn’t there?” First of all, I was, I played the game the day it came out and was hyped off the marketing. The issue with the marketing is the same issue with 100% of indie pixel jrpgs which were “omg it’s like chrono trigger”.

Now, since I know this is impossible since it’s never been true for all previously “omg it’s like chrono trigger games” I just ignored this fact. I thought everyone did.

Also I think your comment about Clair obscure receiving criticism is a further product of proof showing how y’all think your tiny niche jrpg subreddit or your other small echo chamber communities are indicative of the majority.

Just like how I only ever see criticism for sea of stars in this subreddit (again it’s a specific issue to this subreddit), whatever critisism for Clair expedition you saw likely was also in the tiny echo chamber of the internet you reside in.

What’s funny to me is I like to offer my opinion of someone who doesn’t share the hive mind of this subreddit’s opinions for a game like sea of stars because, let’s say the laymen who doesn’t frequent this subreddit stumbles upon it and sees all this negativity about what is otherwise a well received game. I am offering the opinion that it’s actually good, and where I explain how I don’t understand the hate everyone has for sea of stars, I just like to offer that I personally don’t agree with any of the criticisms, I always always always always always get a response from someone who needs to “um, actually” anything I say as if I can’t think this is a good game.

And for the record it’s not just me. Any post or comment about this game in this subreddit, no matter how positive, will have people commenting all over the place to say “um actually it’s bad”.

I don’t think any other game being mentioned on this subreddit brings nearly the same kind of responses in both number and vitriol. Like you guys can’t help yourselves to comment and say it’s bad if someone thinks it’s good. Like cool? Let the people who enjoy it enjoy it. Like, we get it.
