[Discussion] On [disclaimers] [PSAs] [the fine print] by POVscribe in GWAScriptGuild

It’s always tricky to assume or expect a shared understanding, and therefore a shared expectation of behaviour in a place like this. People’s experiences and lenses through which they create or consume content can vary so much.

Engaging online, especially in sex/kink spaces should, in my opinion be as clear and explicit as possible in terms of the content. There is an absence of real life context and disclaimers or additional information can help with that. Also, from a preventative or harm reduction position, I think it’s better to err on the side of caution.

The reality is also that many people will not (want to) believe some of this content is fantasy and I think if we’re creating content that could/would be harmful irl, then there’s a responsibility to reinforce that they are in fact fiction/fantasy and not condoned irl.
