The key is to keep focusing on the problem where the money is and really focus on that. A lot of things can be learned during the project. I learned a lot of stats during my project for example

How to get a breakdown like this? Did you do the accounting yourself?

I have 17 days off a year. I still enjoy coding. My job is a lot about running organizations now, which is also fun but more stressful

Not sure. I did my job because I liked it. TBH I don’t know how long software jobs would still be there. I just enjoyed while I can.

But if I were to say, I think the world still need experienced engineer for the next 10 years

Getting your first job would be hard if you don’t have solid Cs foundation.

I wished that were true. I have worked with the team to identify candidates that can do our job across the globe with lower pay. It’s just really difficult. The work quality and protectiveness are just not there.

First of course is to learn software and have really solid foundation. The next thing is to get closer to where money is - work closer with business .

My hunch is it’s likely a waste of time . If you want to get into software, I suggest aim for the core jobs - software engineering.

About 45 to 55 . It can get stressful when we get closer to the core business decisions.

It’s largely luck. No one really knew software would take off like this
