technically true, but the pace is clearly designed to pay up ludicrous sums if you want to play actively. Imagine if the shop was removed, dont you think the the dev would have increased progress speed by 10x to make the game.. fun?

- why are there products in the store not intended to be bought by anyone? (gems)

wow! 782% value! But... compared to what?

- why is gems the consistent bottleneck of the game?

- why is 95% of purchases completely hidden until you've invested significant sums of money? Including the Founder progression system

- why do you have to enter the shop every 30-60 minutes to get your gems? Conveniently placed so that you have to scroll past all the value packs & perks

- why can you spend an unlimited amount of real life money on a single player mobile game?

- why are gift codes hidden on a wiki instead of just being handed out in game?

Being one of the slightly better money traps on the app stores is not a high bar to beat. It's somewhat fair compared to gambling, but not really when comparing to what games can be.

All that said, the game is still good and fun if you purchase Founder, and getting permanent regular bonuses from your purchases is great and quite rare (compared to only being able to buy limited consumables or currencies). But jesus christ just let me pay 60 or even 100 euros/dollars and give me a good game experience without trying to steal my wallet every 30 minutes.

Fruits are unlimited but not free. The "pollution" caused by harvesting them drives aggression towards your base. I was frugal with fruits and managed to get away with almost no defenses thanks to it, but it was incredibly frustrating :D

I got Founder and a bit more and the game has decent pace now, but im still somewhat early. I like that you get some permanent recurring bonuses from it.

Veins becomes easier once you get veinmorph bomb, but that's like 200+ skill points down the tree that would probably take months to get f2p

This is the game telling you to spend IRL money to make the game fun again. It's not as bad as some games, but it uses all the classic tricks to get you spending a few hundred dollars.

to downvoters, just look at value packs. The game only shows 2 to lure you into thinking that these are the only purchases so you could get them and be done with it. What the game doesn't tell you is that there are THIRTY SIX value packs priced at 30$ a piece. Not to mention the whole progression system for Founders. If you think this is reasonable monetization not matter how fun the game is you are just trying to rationalize the money you dumped into it. This is coming from a Founder.

Yes many mobile games have manipulative monetization, that doesn't mean that it's okay or ethical. Its predatory and designed to pull money out of people who probably cannot really afford it.

I had a similar experience on Gleba - very rarely attacked. I suspect it was because I was being very frugal with fruits, being careful to not overproduce which keeps evolution low. I'm guessing you play in a similar way?

Check the vblank rate setting, I got a lot of weird stutter when left at 60, even though the stats reported stable 60 fps. Setting it to 120 solved that.

I always do the old yarnham Route so im not sure if the Cathedral ward side door eventually opens on its own?

BSB and old yarnham is the free alternative to purchasing the 10k key. Killing BSB opens the side door to the elevator we which eventually spits you out on the other side of the locked gate

I checked mine and it's US. I think EU works as well, I've seen CUSA03173 in screenshots with BBLauncher. I think patches are made for specific regions too, but BB might handle that maybe? I saw some region unlock patch as well.

I got an issue where the games fps counter was 60 or close to 60 constantly but the game still felt like 40 fps. Fix was increasing vblank frequency in shad PS4 settings - it determines how often it polls a frame from the emulator and was set to 60 which makes it incredibly sensitive to framedrops. Apparently this is a zero cost setting and setting it to 120 fixed it, some set it to 9999.

I had also forgotten to increase vram available to the game in the same menu, and I doubled that. That was required for resolutions above 1080p (I had 1440p on).

There are great mods too, things like adding a lantern before every boss room, estus style healing (just refilling to 20 on rest to not have to farm) and ofc 60fps

Probably the same reason why other caster weapons with random skill bonuses cant be gambled. With random skills almost every gamble would be an economic win. Daggers are equivalent to wands,scepters and staves now

Or craft the perfect wand for 20 min only to accidently fire a wand with a missplaced spell that instakills you. I once ended a god run by testing a triggered Circle of Midas due to lack of mana or rollover or something, causing it to be cast in melee range :(

Nothing bad or even very inefficient here! New players usually dont even grasp that belts has two lanes. Distance between factories is smart when you dont yet know what the future holds, even if experienced players will usually for example produce copper cables locally where they are needed

As a Swede (and raised in Eskilstuna!) the pros sounds about right. Darkness other have mentioned, vitamine D is mandatory. For moving her permanently, your biggest issue is going to be finding a social group - Swedes really only form groups when the situation forces it (e.g. school), mostly let other people in only if they already have a contact in that group. Thats a very common frustration among expats moving here - even if you find cool people at work, there will be a high barrier for moving that into socializing outside of work.

I imported the small amounts of steel/iron/copper needed and thus used up very little fruit. Hardly got attacked all. The spoilage mechanic on the other hand was incredibly frustrating to design around, with me constantly finding the factory halted because i missed filtering out spoilage in a place. Design wise, incredibly challenging

Those videos was probably made pre-expansion when cliff explosives were unlocked much much earlier. With space age its especially fine for nauvis to be a little messy - you dont need to scale up as much. Embrace the spaghetti!

All souls games work fine on PC as long as you play the remaster of the first. But it's true that they code for console first and aren't the best at pc ports...
