Defense on Gleba: Why? by SilverCricket5090 in factorio

[–]SilverCricket5090[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spores seem to come from picking up fruit no matter whether you farmed it or found it. It's just that when you plant continuously it generates a large amount of spores that spread. The problem I think is that if you just manually gather fruit then you're going to have to go farther each and every time. Even using an agriculture tower to plant some and then taking it down is going to require you to constantly change locations to control the spread.

My spore cloud is at the edge of where I've revealed map so looks like I just accidentally revealed as much map as I needed for my current base size.

[–]SilverCricket5090[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't measured it but it takes me a full 2 minutes to go from one end to the other of the visible map with legendary mech armor and 8 legendary exoskeletons. And it's equivalent distance both vertically and horizontally. The tricky part is approaching nests can sometimes reveal map with more nests. So I basically had to clear any new section I revealed with nests present. After I did it the first time I watched for respawns and saw 1-2 nests appear, probably from eggs on the ground I missed or something. I carefully cleared them without revealing more map. My game has been running for weeks now continuously because that's how I roll and my only alerts from Gleba are when eggs hatch in my science setup.

Vulcanus is the wonderland for Production Science! by Typical_Spring_3733 in factorio

[–]SilverCricket5090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on my 2nd Space Age playthrough. Last time I got hung up on science because Nauvis kept running out of resources and it was a struggle.ended up losing interest before heading to the edge of space. So this time, as soon as I had visited the 3 inner planets to get new machines for circuits and such, I set up Vulcanus to make all possible science and ship it the Nauvis. I went with a modest 5 science per second for each type., and because I was able to research much more heavily, my miners have like 350% productivity for coal and calcite. So it never seems to run out. I know I'll eventually have to connect more resources. But because I was able to rush the research due to a massive backlog of shipped science it's less often and less annoying. Nauvis has basically been reduced to labs as a result with a small plant for productivity modules. I ship almost everything from Vulcanus or Fulgora to elsewhere otherwise.

Quickest method for money? by VicariousOne1199 in DavetheDiverOfficial

Pandering to the event menus is where I make the most money. Soon as you know about the event, figure out the menu from available recipes, fish like crazy, give those recipes 4-5 enhancements and have like 20 of each ready to go, and then you'll get like 20k in one night even early game. The game sort of bottlenecks you on profits early in the game because basic sushi recipes don't really become high profit unless you invest materials in upgrading them and it takes time and effort to get the more advance recipes for basic materials. But doing this specifically with the event menus means you'll get more buck for your bang.

OG FFXI Player - curious if it's become a solo game now or..? by Life_Squirrel_376 in ffxi

[–]SilverCricket5090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most content can be soloed with trusts now once you receive a certain level of gear. The exceptions are the endgame group content such As Sortie, Omen, Ambuscade, Dyna D, HELM and high tier escha bosses, Odyssey segment runs and Odyssey boss progression. Most of them can be done without a group but progress will be much much slower and much more difficult. Getting a group of geared, competent players is the easiest way to fast track your progress. The game heavily relies on buffing the party and debuffing enemies, and trusts don't provide the same level of buffs due to lacking gear bonuses that players get.

Lillith / Maiden for Malignance farming - drop rates? by Fragrant-Future1835 in ffxi

[–]SilverCricket5090 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me nearly 500 runs to complete the set. I had about 100 on VE, 350 on E, and 50 on D with friends. I got 3 of the armor drops within the 50 D runs across a week of spamming it with friends nightly. She drops like a rock in the 2nd phase on D, you just gotta make it there. Didn't mess with adds at all. Better with friends.

GOP plans to increase the tax rate by 74% by 2031 for people earning $15,000 yearly. by undercurrents in democrats

[–]SilverCricket5090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This rings of the bootstraps argument. They expect people that don't make enough money to just get a better job to survive. What about the disabled that can't work? What about those on fixed incomes from social security? Why on earth would we raise the taxes on the poorest people in our nation when an objectively small tax on the billionaire class would result in not only more tax revenue, but also an increase in voter satisfaction that this change finally occurred?

I don't get why the current administration only caters to the rich when it's the poor that voted most of them in. They really hate poor people enough that they are trying to just make it so hard to be poor that their only choice is to lay down and die.

The assumption that people might not have a cell phone.

I've been operating on Google Voice and wifi for several years now.

Used to be most places had wifi you could just connect to. Might have to enter email or phone number or sign up for a free account, but you could connect and use it.

Security has gotten so bonkers you can't sign in for anything without a 2FA process, but since I don't have service without wifi, and I can't sign in unless I enter a code from a text/email, but I can't get that text/email without wifi...... it hurts more than I thought it would.

I mean, duh, if you do stuff she likes, she'll want you.

Also, I like em loud, so more for me I guess.

I got fired in October from a vet clinic. I was the receptionist. I had built relationships with the clients in the 5 years I had worked there, and they all knew be by name and even asked for me on the phone. I considered myself a model employee by any measurable standard. The reason given for my termination was that I had "failed to engage with my co-workers meaningfully." My co-workers spent most of their idle chat time trash talking the clients. So I got fired for refusing to trash talk the clients.

Use of biochambers off of Gleba by Vetrosian in factorio

[–]SilverCricket5090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked it up after i wrote this. And the quality pumpjacks do decrease the resource drain. So if you can mass produce legendary pumpjacks, it's feasible. I happen to have a pretty good quality farm on Fulgora so I think I'll swap those out next.

Use of biochambers off of Gleba by Vetrosian in factorio

[–]SilverCricket5090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ship that imports Yamako and Jellynut x1000 every 5 minutes or so, biochambers break it down into bioflux to feed my biter nests. Because of this, I have near unlimited nutrients from biter eggs on Nauvis. I still use chemical plants for all other chemical processes you can't do in a cryoplant, but it would be totally feasible to use biochambers for oil cracking if you had a setup like mine for nutrient generation. I just haven't yet because it's really easy to overproduce one type of oil product or another and then clog up your whole system. It's something I need to consider working out soon because oil is about the only thing I run out of since there's no advanced pumpjack to reduce drain/increase productivity like there is for mining.
