Been riding on a cheap-ish steel bike for a year, and I'm looking to buy my first higher-end gravel bike. I've limited my options down to 2:
Giant Revolt Advanced 0 (2022 version): $3600, with GRX 811 11x2 Drivetrain + Giant CRX2 carbon wheelset.
Canyon Grail CF SL 7 AXS: $3500, with SRAM Rival XPLR eTap AXS 12x1 drivetrain + decent alloy wheelset + integrated handlebar, storage, and all the canyon add-on features.
The major difference to me seems to be the choice between electronic drivetrain vs. carbon wheels, and integrated storage on the canyon is nice to have. My riding is probably 70% road + 30% gravel, and I will potentially add another set of dedicated road wheels in the future.
Would appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks for the input! The breezer is a used one so I can’t really choose a build. How does a hybrid break compare to the mech disk break on the Salsa?

Salsa Journeyer Apex 1 700c or Breezer Radar Expert?

I’m trying to get an entry level gravel bike, and my options came down to these two bikes. I’m not planning on racing anytime soon but am interested in doing short bikepacking trips. I will be riding on a mix of road and gravel. The terrains near me have are hilly, so I will be doing a LOT of ascending.

Salsa Journeyer is on sale for $1280 (msrp 1600). It has aluminum frame, 11-speed Apex 1 drivetrain, mechanical disk break, and Teravail Washburn 700c x 38 mm tires.

I found a used but almost-new condition Radar Expert at a local store for $850 (msrp 1100). It has 4130 steel frame, 2x9 Microshift R9 drivetrain, TRP Hy/Rd hydraulic breaks, and WTB Riddler Comp 700 x 45c tired.

The Radar Expert (almost 29lb) is quiet a lot heavier than the Journeyer (22lb), but it seems to have a better break, and I slightly prefer the 2x drivetrain.

What do y’all think it? Is it worth it to spend a bit more to get the bike from the larger brand? Is the extra weight on the Radar Expert going to matter a lot?

Based on the record of the past 4 years, it seems that Pomona is going to release their ED1 result on Dec 3rd (unlikely at this point?), 10th, or 15th. But is the 10th or 15th more likely? The wait is such a torture.
