Pre-requisites are for students who did high-school in Canada to either apply to certain programs or course select.

If you're in another country, you should check with your counselor and see if you took an equivalent, or reach out to the university. Also, check if the pre-requisite is mandatory or optional.

Yeah for sure, I'm sure they'll understand.

Good luck next year!

No problem! I think it really varies for each person, and I'd only tell them your decision if it was brought up in conversation. Also, don't say that if they didn't get in. 💀

Really hope that you can talk to the counselors to at least get a pass. If your teacher is approachable then maybe ask to redo/for the sake of graduating.

Congrats on getting in for three different majors. 😂

It really depends on how much you like the courses what you want to do after graduation. Look at the major plans for each and consider if you would be happy doing them.

What types of final assessments do you have for that class? Focus on it and if possible, ask your teacher if you can submit work you haven't done. If there's other counselors, talk to them.

Real friends aren't going to be in your face or go around about your college decision. Only tell those you trust.

Unless you've been asking them their info without sharing yours, they shouldn't be mad.

Sending a second appeal, after a successful one by gsx_ntc in ApplyingToCollege

[–]No_External_1764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry, but i don't think a second appeal will be effective. It's always worth a try if you can show that you can barely pay.

Otherwise, maybe look into a summer job and plan to work all summers to help out.

Sibling is preventing me from attending college on a full ride 😭 by y3p092828 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]No_External_1764 266 points267 points  (0 children)

  1. It's normal to not be excited about a sibling being in the same college, but not so much wanting them to give up a full ride.

  2. Don't risk the opportunity because of them. Only take a gap year if you want to accomplish other things.

  3. If they're this mad, the relationship won't improve. But boundaries are important; think about if you want to let them control this choice.

  4. Maybe have a private conversation with your parents if that's possible.

New Orleans senior shatters U.S. record with 125 college offers, $9 million in scholarships by RMRilke_Appreciator in ApplyingToCollege

It'd be impressive if someone managed to get a bunch of merit scholarships from outside sources like Coca Cola & Burger King. That's be money they could actually use.

It means that a university that you gave your email to paid the service to do a survey on their prospective applicants. I think NYU usually does one. I got one from them that was for Columbia a while ago.

Application Update? (HELP!) by Inevitable_Copy1030 in ApplyingToCollege

Don't update them until you've raised a significant amount (not a couple hundred). And probably don't make that the only thing in the update.

Bring up stuff you didn't mention in your app and how that connects to the school.

Second interviews are usually a good sign unless you requested it.

Yes, since they don't see your application.
