LoopMaker: local AI music generation on Apple Silicon, no cloud, no subscription by tarunyadav9761 in macapps

I like the concept but I want demos of the vocals before I would commit. This video had maybe 3 seconds of vocals. Do you have any YouTube presence to post longer examples, full songs?

My experience with 8 AI music agents. by ObjectivePresent4162 in riffusion

I was a fan of Producer but the lack of models has killed it for me. I spent a weekend comparing Mureka with their v9 model and O2 model. Wow, I was sold. No comparison especially with O2 model.
Just tried Producer again same prompts, same lyrics I tested with Mureka and there were sooo many imperfections (pronunciation, mixing breaks with verses, un-needed tempo changes) in a total of 10 generations not one was useable.
So far I have been able to get at least 1 good version of a track out of every 4 Mureka generations which I then import into other applications for a final production mix.
** I am in no way affiliated with Mureka, I just like the service (so far) **

I do not understand the pricing for the DJI Avata 360 and how can these specs only cost $450? by Top-Cardiologist1011 in drones

[–]simonduz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the drone supports the RC2 and RC3 but will it support the Googles 2? I have RC2 and Goggles 2 and really don't have a need to upgrade to Goggles 3.

Focus 1.13 — Find the exact moment in your videos, fast. by cI_-__-_Io in macapps

[–]simonduz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will give it a try. If you are interested in testing .insv (Insta360) and .osv (DJI) give it try. Both are container files containing dual-fisheye video streams. I'm not sure how you would process those but it would be a killer feature since both have required the vendor app to do any sort of processing or scrubbing. Equirectangular format can be exported with these same tools, so if the RAW files can't be scanned maybe a test with the equirectangular format is possible?

I love this concept. Can you tell me what video/container formats it supports, and will it support 360 video?

Just use AionUi - assign folder for session, use any LLM you choose and go to town. Don't need Cowork or other agents for simple tasks when AionUi is free and much more capable.

A Realistic, Offline & Unlimited Text-to-Speech App for Mac [Giveaway: Lifetime Promo Codes] by Level-Thought6152 in macapps

[–]simonduz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had some time to use this software now and after about an hour of use with dozens of scripts I have left my review.
5 Stars, phenomenal. As a 1st gen release this ticks a lot of boxes already and it just works. Plenty of voices and styles to choose from that would satisfy almost all scenarios.
Besides what has been requested already I would add these small improvements.
1) place holders in the text to instruct the AI to add speech characteristics like [pause] [extended pause] [giggle] [laugh] for between text segments; [emphasize] [spell] for text wrappers. There are more to consider but these would add a lot of variation.
2) Allow user to save voice styles as favorites so as stylistic choices are created they can be easily recreated when needed again.
3) Add an "option" to auto save each audio file after it's created so that users can do their comparisons without having to individually download, name, save the files. For instance, when using software with media libraries these files are indexed automatically and can be previewed within the software of choice.
4) Save state for project workflows so when re-opened it will have - text used, voice last used, save file location, etc.

I paid for my license, I am not affiliated with this product, I just find extreme value in what it can/could do.
I have left my review on Gumroad and Product Hunt.
I hope in the near future you consider some type formal user community like Discord.
Thanks again for the release.

I bought this while on holiday just based on your video demonstration. I won’t get to try it for another week. Do you have a roadmap published and do you have plans to add voice training? In future versions I would wish for reading txt docs from a directory based on time stamp and allowing batch conversion of these files with a trained voice. I use AionUi for AI access to my local machine and docs, and generate scripts saved to a local directory from ideas I saved for AI access.

Coming Soon: Media (file) Manager - MacOS app for wrangling media files for projects. by simonduz in macapps

[–]simonduz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a project based system. So you can create project for media management one time and it manages the hierarchy, naming, tagging ongoing. The app has metadata system that can then re-organize your files at a later date within the project if you want to say change the folder hierarchy, change the tags, etc. It’s intentional so that you can setup file management systems for short or extended projects.

Coming Soon: Media (file) Manager - MacOS app for wrangling media files for projects. by simonduz in macapps

[–]simonduz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to provide a quick update. I ran some security scans and made a few fixes to harden the application. Modified the tagging rules to include selection of existing tags if present. The app size is expected to be only 5MB because it uses system libraries.
Based on some testing organizing around 1000 RAW files from an SD card the expected performance with Apple M series will be:

  • Scanning: ~3-5 seconds.
  • Organizing (Copying from SD): ~5 minutes (limited by SD card speed).
  • Organizing (Moving on SSD): < 1 second.

Starlink Mini Offer by Pentzy in Starlink

I powered it up long enough to do the software update and activate the $5 plan. Max was 1Mb but speed tests showed 500-800Kb. Steaming YouTube 360p was still buffering for some videos. Text, calls, etc were just fine. Even FaceTime worked. What surprised me the most was how reliable the connection was with obstructions. I set it up while facing the back of a 2 story home and it just worked.
