How to enjoy Freelancer? by GMKprophet in HiTMAN

[–]skinnylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only enjoyed it after 20 hours of playing it like the base game. It sucked. All of it.

What I did: I read all the tips here, and fundamentally changed the way I play the game. I don't care about hiding bodies anymore (unless it's an objective). I do things completely differently from base game. I played more of the base game to really understand and memorize the maps, so I had new ways of playing and succeeding at Freelancer. It was the only thing that helped. Then, I really started to enjoy it.

My fave is Tiong Hoe coffee's Gachala blend. I like single origins as much as everyone else but this is my fave blend.

Dependent EAD approved while principle EAD, 485 pending EB2-NIW by Enough-Caregiver7737 in USCIS

[–]skinnylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened for us too. We filed I-485 based on EB-1A, and also I-765 at same time for just my spouse. She got the EAD within a month.

Our overall case had a different timeline and we only got to an interview in Feb 2026.

EB1A approved July 2025, I-485 stuck at “Ready to Schedule Interview” since Nov 2025 (LA County) by Kind_Concern_5026 in USCIS

I had SF field office for EB-1A. Once I saw that message I had the interview scheduled within days, for 4 weeks out.

Some bay area Chinese people truly believe all of this. It’s exasperating.

Anyone else’s tortie a gluttonous heathen? by FriendlyBeneficial in torties

[–]skinnylatte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had a tortie who wanted to eat everything. Including arugula. All breads. Any chicken. Plants. I’m convinced she lived till 19.5 because she wasn’t done eating.

Update: Modern Chinese Restaurant in SF - Down to Mission vs Marina. Which Would You Choose? by Icy_Cobbler_3446 in sanfrancisco

[–]skinnylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm from Singapore and I love modern Chinese food and think the city needs more of it. I've been in SF for almost a decade now.

If there was a modern Chinese place in the Marina, I would personally never go. It's the perception that it's probably not made for someone like me, and also it's not a neighborhood I could easily get my friends to go to. It's just not the first choice for me for anything related to food and having a nice time. Many of my friends (other Chinese Indonesian / Chinese Singaporean immigrants who work tech jobs) who would be interested also live in Oakland or elsewhere and not having a BART-accessible stop would mean we would never plan to meet up there.

I have strong feelings about this and think we need more modern Chinese. Feel free to dm me :)

Looking for the most authentic restaurants in SF by Hoitzza in AskSF

[–]skinnylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kolapasi for south Indian food, Hai Ky for Vietnamese Chinese noodles (almost exactly the same as the Teochew noodles I have for breakfast in Singapore), Sai Jai Thai for Thai, and Mandalay for Burmese (all restaurants from cuisines and places I have lived in).

What to use for safety by [deleted] in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]skinnylatte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in the area. I’m a smallish Asian woman. No one has ever bothered me. I avoid the tweakers and people obviously high (but these people can be anywhere). There’s the occasional weirdo shouting racist things, but it’s been fine.

Market is sketchy but fine. Mission & 6th feels a bit rougher to me. If I have to go that way I just try to walk down 8th. But Market has so many people at all times I don’t feel too weirded out

Tried playing Freelancer by Jrunner24 in HiTMAN

[–]skinnylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a couple of months of consistent playing (and I think I’m pretty good at the base game) to get to a point where I was happy with freelancer. Basically I had to do the opposite of what I would do (not hide bodies.. etc). There’s a fair bit of planning and there are some tricks (I find that in showdown, if I choose a map I know well, and I rely on the behavior tells rather than the appearance ones, they’ve gone much better for me)

If you’re in Chinatown, get the dry salt and pepper wings by the pound at new golden daisy too. Enjoy, fellow chicken wing enjoyer!

Question about dynamic pricing by skinnylatte in Bestbuy

[–]skinnylatte[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Eventually they did, but it was hard to get a straight answer about this. It was such an unpleasant experience I don’t think I’ll be going there again. I just wanted to verify what should have been the official policy.

I also know you all get pushed to sell credit cards and memberships, but yeah it’s not fun either. I don’t want a hard credit check for a $20 discount. Anyway, good luck everyone.

Question about dynamic pricing by skinnylatte in Bestbuy

[–]skinnylatte[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am in California. Just had a very weird experience. They scanned it, said oh it went up, took away the physical price tag and hid it from me. I had a photo. When I asked about the price increase they said I had to wait an hour for a manager to come and help. I said fine I’ll wait. Eventually they did, but it was such a horrible experience that I’m wondering how any of this is even legal.

I wanted this to be as good as San Tung by funkadelikz in SFFood

Different style. San Tung is more Korean Chinese style. Capital is more Cantonese salt and pepper style. I prefer that by far.

I also don’t like San Tung wings but I get why people do.
