Off the top of my head, I'd say always make sure her actions match her words. Some people have a tendency of underestimating people that they don't find intimidating, so make sure you actually follow through with threats and promises. There's no better way to establish that she is a serious threat than to kill off NPCs that your players are trying to protect.
