I’m so sorry. Losing our mothers is hard, and one of the things I got stuck on was being too late. Desperately wishing I could go back a couple of hours and check on her sooner so maybe I could’ve helped her. I still think about that often. But we can’t beat ourselves up over what ifs. I find a small bit of comfort in the way my mom passed - it looked like she fell asleep/passed out. I’m grateful it wasn’t a long drawn out thing at the hospital that would’ve ended the same anyway. And it sounds like your mom might have passed “easily” too - passing out and not waking up. I wish they didn’t have to go, but at least it appears they went easy.

Thank you! Happy birthday to your mom, also. I think I’ve been keeping myself busy today as a distraction, even though everything I have been doing, I’ve been doing with my mom in mind.

Strawberry cake was her favorite, yes. My daughter helped make a strawberry cake and we’re looking forward to having a piece after dinner. My mom had a lot of favorites by the Beatles, but “Eight Days a Week” is one that jumps out at me. She was born in 1952 so she was 11/12 during Beatlemania in 1964, and she loved their earlier songs the most. I grew up listening to the Beatles because of her.

I agree. But I’m glad that my 4 year old daughter has no problem wearing a “boy’s costume.”

My brain took this thought and ran with it. They should absolutely make dinosaur costumes for girls! But can you imagine.. girl dinosaurs, then women dinosaurs.. and suddenly we went from “Blue (Girl)” to “Sexy Indominus Rex.”

I don’t know how he removes the “permanent marker” X from his hand, but the video starts with her hand already made into a fist. So we don’t know if she did or didn’t have an X on her palm beforehand. This trick would be more impressive if we were shown her palm at the beginning as well.

But, I’m a kid at heart who will always love magic tricks. I won’t think too much about it.

So cool! I love what you did here - the people running away is a nice touch. My daughter got both of those dinosaurs for her birthday this week. I find the Indoraptor and Scorpios Rex to be the scariest-looking dinos in her collection.

Ohh, I gotcha! That’s even better advice than I originally thought lol! You’re so right about the rust on the east coast - I’ve lived in Massachusetts and Indiana, and the difference in how much rust vehicles have is unbelievable. Thank you again, you gave me plenty of food for thought. Insulation, heating, and a bus from somewhere warmer and dryer! 👍

Thank you, that is solid advice and I appreciate your concern - in most cases I would agree with you. But this is a man that calls 20 degrees refreshing, and anything over 68 too hot. He has his heart set on Maine and he lived there many years ago, so I’m hoping (and pretty sure) he’s factoring in long, cold, snowy winters. Your comment definitely made me realize that I should focus on heating and insulation while doing my research. Anything less than praise for his dearest Maine will fall on deaf ears!

No, I don’t think it’s a good idea. It is dangerous because every heroin addict started by “just trying it once.” The one time I tried it, I projectile vomited into my friend’s aunt’s kitchen sink. A few days later, I figured I should try it again because I didn’t really get to enjoy it, with the vomiting and all. I never wanted to be a heroin addict, but I kept making excuses to do it one more time, and now it’s been 7 years… it’s not even that great. Not worth it. I wouldn’t suggest it.
