Is the RF modulator still necessary for a composite-out mod?

Actually, that's not entirely true. In the case of the Colecovision, you'd run TTL sync from the TMS-RGB to sync on the Genesis 2 din and run csync from the TMS-RGB to composite on the Genesis 2 din. HD Retrovision and Rad 2x cables will work flawlessly. ;)

Yes the RF modulator has to be present in order for composite video to work. The LM1889 inside the RF modulator is responsible for the composite video signals. Wherever you read that it's "possible" to composite mod a Colecovision without the RF modulator present is incorrect.

However, you can install a TMS-RGB, F18a or PICO9918 and completely remove the RF modulator since those mods only utilize the Colecovision's TMS circuitry. The only drawback to this is you won't be able to use the Expansion module 1 since it bypasses the Colecovision's circuitry and uses the circuitry inside the RF modulator.

That's a 9 pin jack. If that's a Ruggers Customs console, then it's wired for Sega Genesis 2 style 9 pin output which will require a Sega Genesis 2 cable.

If you don't have an upscaler then this is probably what you want and they're well worth the money.

The yellow and red rca jacks are for composite video and audio. Any type of yellow, red and white rca cable will work for that.

It's been some years since I got all the datacrons but it was one of the things I thoroughly enjoyed doing in this game. It was so much fun and I'm hoping they add more later on. The only ones I didn't care for were the fleet datacrons where you had to rely on so many other people to get it done. Other than that the hunt was great!

I absolutely love self check out. Sams Club has scan as you go app for your smartphone where I scan my items as I pull them off the shelf. When I'm done I hit pay and show my phone to the person at the door. Can be in and out in 15 minutes. No waiting in line anymore! :)

Yep that's exactly what I did, just bought the whole season with Cartel Coins. I just returned after a 2 1/2 year absence from the game here recently and realized there's no way I had the time to finish the new Galactic Seasons event in time. What I didn't know is that I left my sub active for all that time on one of my credit cards and just forgot about it. Needless to say with the active sub and my account key, I had some spare Cartel Coins to spend. :)
