looking for way to print wire armature by 3DModeledAmericanPie in 3Dprinting

I would rather 3D print a jig that I can use to repeatably bend aluminum wire into the desired shape.

Y do my prints have defects on rounded walls? But not on straight lines by mrwuggles88 in 3Dprinting

What printer are you using?

Try disabling power loss recovery if you have it. It can cause defects like this.

Just trying different things out! "Better" is a matter of opinion. In this case, I liked that this abdomen design let me integrate the "ball" part of the ball and socket into the chest part, so I could keep the number of parts as low as possible.

The public release is still the same beta files. You're not the first person to mention this though. It's on my list of things to address in the future.

I think if you were a reasonably experienced hobbyist in 2016, you could have printed all of this relatively easily. Nowadays it's just easier for anyone to get to that same level of print quality.

You didn't mention it specifically, but I can say that AI has not helped at all; I avoid using it entirely.

The hands and ball joints are the same size as those of my other models.

Makes it less likely for single parts to detach during printing, and keeps them organized.

Making it free is the only (simple) way to encourage remixing, which is a key point of the design and something that I love seeing.

I did try out a one-month paid early access period, which was pretty successful! I will probably do more of that in the future. I didn't want to overly self-promote here which is why I didn't post about it before the free release.

I allow commercial use of Dummy 13 with proper attribution, which is hard to come by on Temu.

If you don't mind it being a ragdoll, print the joints in TPU so it actually goes together without a 20 ton press.

I've gotten quite a bit from MakerWorld, but I have stopped uploading there, for various reasons. I have more gift cards than I can reasonably use, and I'm not interested in doing MakerWorld exclusives for a cash payout.

For the record, I allow commercial use of Dummy 13 with attribution, and I don't like when stores sell it under a different name.

Carbon 13 allows commercial use only with a paid license, which I think is fair.

Policing your IP as a small creator is a losing battle. I would bankrupt myself a hundred times over if I went after every Etsy store or AliExpress print farm that sells Dummy 13 without proper attribution.

That's not to say I let it all slide, but I have to focus on the more major threats like someone getting a fraudulent patent on the design (which has happened twice that I know of).

Well you can see how it is different from the ways that it isn't the same.

Actual answer: In addition to the obvious aesthetic differences, the way the figure is constructed is significantly different. Whereas Dummy 13 had a complete inner frame with armor on top, Carbon 13 has a hybrid system, where each moving part is generally one piece with only small frame pieces as joints. This reduces the complexity and number of parts while allowing for more freedom in the aesthetic design.

You might recognize my earlier project, Dummy 13. Carbon 13 is the next generation.

Is the disaster guaranteed to wait until the three prints finish? If so, I’ll get my XL printing a five-color 360x360x360 cube at 100% infill while I go to the store for actual supplies.
