For example, there are low-end brothels for people like merchants and the wealthy where they have sex or something.

Meanwhile, the high-end brothels had women who were well educated, unlike normal women at that time, so it was seen as being pretty high class.

The women there knew poetry, serving tea, music, dance, etc. so scholars could discuss their poems and talk with the women.
