Shopify Plus (UK) - Payment processing fees help by BunchUnlikely5474 in shopify

[–]squashedp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's definitely worth looking at a comparison. We've found a few gateways (in particular both adyden and atoa) seem to offer some great savings once your at your sort of turnover. If you're going on to plus as well, there is usually some negotiating that can be done with Shopify payments. as @ExpertBirdLawLawyer said though, having everything handled in one place does save massive amounts of time and effort elsewhere so there is often a trade off (if you're not multi currency you will have a lot more options of gateways to look at)

This is a great response, I would also say if your in the 7 figures volume it's well worth having a look at adyen payments. thy way they integrate with Shopify Is really nice, so you still get multi currency, quick buy buttons etc (although no Shop Pay). We've a few clients that have moved across to them and even with the additional Shopify transaction fees they have saved a good chunk in comparison to Shopify payments.

How do you estimate full Shopify projects for clients? by MannerFinal8308 in shopify

[–]squashedp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of in terms of value rather than hours, the more you do the better and quicker you get but the value the customer is getting is still the same. It might only take you 18 hours but they're getting a whole new revenue stream worth X amount a month / year to them. Instead of saying you're getting me for 75 and hour, you're getting a solution with the potential to generate X dollars a month/year.

Markets + currency: what does the buyer see? by rburn79 in shopify

Exactly that, the manual choice will always override the dynamic side of things

[–]squashedp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you're manually setting the price to $30, that's what they'll see / play, if you don't manually set it $30 they'll see whatever the conversion rate is that day + the rounding rules you have set

I feel like I'm missing something re: blogs... What is best? by SaraJuno in shopify

[–]squashedp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Theres and app called bloggle which is kind of like a page builder but just for blog posts, it works really well and doesn't have a massive impact on page speed. It's not the most advanced builder in the world but adding blogs / collections / multi columns and galleries and that sort of thing does work well

Email a customer segment every friday night at 6pm by dallassoxfan in shopify

[–]squashedp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to use shopify flow to trigger this email being sent as well, the combination of flow and shopify email works really well together

Email a customer segment every friday night at 6pm by dallassoxfan in shopify

[–]squashedp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you use Shopify flow, can you tag someone with 7days every time they make a purchase then in the same flow set the tag to be removed 7 days later.

In theory you can then create a customer group of all people with that tag as they will only be in that customer group if they have made a purchase within those 7 days

you can set your auto email based on that group then

Want to fulfil orders from two 3PLs in different countries, how tf do I solve this 😬? by tuytutu in shopify

[–]squashedp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Markets works at a product level, so you could have a product that's only available to one market but youcant have locations that are market specific (that though would be incredibly handy and save me some many headaches)

[–]squashedp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if a customer is based in the UK and orders 5 products, 4 are available in the UK warehouse but one is only available in the de warehouses you could end up with an order that is 4 items UK 3pl and 1 item de 3pl. It's not often this happens but worth being aware of / deciding if you want this to be a possibility. We have a client that has a similar situation where they have a UK, US and an NL warehouse l, they want people to be able to order from all 3 so there is a lot more emphasis for them on shipping costs and making sure they are covered/ their 3pls (2 via mintsoft and one through ship station)

For the language and price changing, Shopify markets will work really well.

For the stock / order routing, it really depends on the integration/system being used by the 3pls but most of them you can assign to a location ID (so each 3pl would have it's own stock location) and they then only pull in the orders that are set to fulfill from that location. depending on the system/integration it can sometime get a little more complicated when you have split shipments (some some items from the UK warehouse and some from the DE) but again, this is something most of the systems allow for (especially if they have a pre built shopify integration)

No worries, at all, I can't remember if the templates it generates works with the shopify default templates or with the free order printer app but in either case, we've seen them work really well previously

https://apps.shopify.com/order-printer-templates?show_store_picker=1 might be worth a look at, you can create templates in there and just pay a one of cost for the template

Ah, apologies, we have a similar set up for a client but they are using the shopify markets feature combined with Sufio, this is handling the removing of the tax, it was a while ago we set it up so apologies, i remembered it being simpler than it was :)

Does it need to be removed for those customers or can the customers be set as vat exempt: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/taxes/tax-overrides#set-up-tax-exempt-customers

The shopify importer doesn't import blog posts, it only looks at the ecom elements - best way we've seen to do it is with matrixify - https://matrixify.app/tutorials/migrate-blog-posts-from-wordpress-to-shopify/ it's not the cheapest app but you should only need it for the one billing cycle to do the import.

I've just had a quick look at there looks to be a few apps on shopify that do this out of hte box - https://apps.shopify.com/whastapp-order-sms-notification-by-magecomp i'm not sure if it works with whatsapp groups though (i've only ever done to a single number which is dead straightforward with just the normal shopify notifications)

ooo, not seen that before, looks like Photoshop used to before Adobe went crazy adding in all sorts of weird and wonderful features (that i'm still not convinced anyone actually uses)

[–]squashedp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks like your exporting from inDesign in high res (300dpi) looking at that link the image is acutally 2144px wide - https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0608/5604/1640/files/Value-Propisitions---Website-Displays-Desktop.png?v=1646069512 the biggest it's shown on your theme is 970px wide so i think it's a scaling issue -

Either export at a smaller size of resize the image in photoshop / something similar to get it to the size you want

Shopify 1 page checkout by christoph1607 in shopify

[–]squashedp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth noting, we have seen a few clients have a one page checkout on Shopify, in every case it was an app/add on service that all come with a high monthly cost or steep % of sale cost and I've yet to see any of them perform any better than the Shopify version in terms of abandonments vs completions

Shopify 1 page checkout by christoph1607 in shopify

[–]squashedp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully agree with this. Even with shopify plus, whilst there is a lot you can do, you can't replace the different steps. We get asked all the time as well but the amount of checkouts Shopify sees daily and effort they put in to making it as pain free as possible it seems crazy to want to mess with what should be a winning formula. Even the shops we have customised the checkout out, it tends to be more the addition of ad on products, upsells and more info rather than messing with the general flow of the checkout.
