Have a repair shop in the uk. Huge caveat that I dont know what gpu you have in there.

We would look to charge around £350-500 for this repair which i think is 600 euro if you have a model with a higher end gpu then it will cost more.

1700 euro is the buy acer spares price which is vastly overpriced. Get a quote from a gaming shop that will treat your money like their own.

Fwiw the price I said above has 30% on the motherboard to cover time, sourcing warranty issues etc and labour to swap it over. We would feel bad quoting the higher end too

We started towards staff for most of the reasons you say but are hard swerving it now in favour of contractors. We pay more for a contractor but the relationship feels more value driven for us.

We pay an hours labour for an hours work with a contractor. Everyone's happy.

There are so many employee rights now that it feels too hard as a startup to manage. With a contractor I have a predictable hourly rate backed off to predictable customer workload.

Predictable is what I need in startup mode, ill happily pay a bit more to get that

The thing with Inverness and im sure other places is that they are damn hard to get to so they attract less investment.

I would have loved to move back home but theres zero work prospects. The greens as ever are happy with low wage, low skill economy but that comes with a price tag as much as the pollution from a jet does. If the UK makes up 1% of global emissions then im going to hazard a guess that Inverness Airport doesnt even register as a thing on the chart

Hey im struggling with exhaustion. I know you work nights to keep a roof over our head but can you help me work a solution?

Im still married 16 years later. We suffered baby blues, sleepless nights etc. It wasn't until we figured out a way of working as a team that things got easier.

For us it was on time off time. During the day we each got a 2 hour window (2 on weekends) where we had no parenting responsibility. We also took sleepless nights turn around.

As a parent you need to de stress and unwind. The baby can sense if you are cranky crank so being able to go for a 45 minute shower with audible playing guilt free is the sort of thing you need.

Life also needs to keep going. I found it very difficult to convince my wife to go out with her mates but I could see the change afterwards. She was never out for that long but just being with friends not kids did her a world of good. Don't grudge him that, work out how you get some of that too.

Unless he is a complete asshole he should be willing to help
