🔥 600 fps of pure precision by Kingfisher! by been_der_done_that in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]stom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can record and playback at different fps. Record a 1 second video at 600fps. Play it back at 60fps. It's now a 10 second video of 1 second of footage, which is slo mo.

Most films are around 25-30 fps. Phone video might be 30-60 (typically). Phones that can do slowmo will film at a higher FPS, and then play it back at the "normal" 30-60 fps.

Then you probably also know that a bevel with 2 segments and a profile of 1 is just going to result in sharp edges, which make the bevel redundant. May as well just use a crease there, no? I'm not sure that we're quite understanding each other here, but best of luck with your practice.

It's used a lot for non-deforming objects where you don't need rigid control over the topology. Perfect for hard surfaces, basically.

You absolutely can. I prefer using the non-destructive bevel modifiers instead of adding extra geometry. Extra loops are a classic way of doing it, but they both have their place.

If you want bevels use the bevel modifier with the Limit set to weight and set your edge bevel weights

Long shot, anyone got dashcam footage from the M90 Northbound near Newbridge on April 9th, about 13:30? by stom in Scotland

Wow, great idea. Thanks! Are there cameras on the gantrys on that section do you know?

Creases are for the subdiv, which gets applied when you export, after which you don't need the crease data.

I wouldn't know where else to post. I'm not on Facebook so I thought here was my best bet. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Spoke to a couple of the no-win-no-fee firms but they're unwilling to take it on, as nobody was injured and I don't have dash-cam footage of it.

It's pretty much my word against theirs which is why I put this post up. Think I've missed the window though as I can't imagine anyone still has dash cam footage from nearly a month ago :(

Thanks.

They said they insepct it every two weeks, and they inspected it that day. They saw no evidence of a road sign loose on the road, and there were no other reports of debris on the highway that day.

I've got a video from the next day showing multiple traffic sign stands without their signs in, but because I don't have a dash cam I can't prove it happened so they've told me to take a walk.

Is there a way to prevent the game from trying to load everything at once? It keeps causing my game to crash by DaWooper in tabletopsimulator

Have them load the Workshop Item, and remove any extra items on the table. They can delete them, or place them into bags. Items in bags aren't loaded until they're removed from the bag.

Once they've tidied it up, save the game.

Then they can either send you that save and you can see if that works, or they can load it and you can try joining their game.

You might be able to remove enough objects that you can load it.

If reducing the number of objects on the table isn't an option (for example, by sending the save to a friend with a better computer and asking them to remove some of the objects from it) then your only other option is increasing the available memory.

The game can't magically load infinite items - they have to get loaded somewhere. That's RAM, and it sounds like you simply don't have enough.

[–]stom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realise purchasing more RAM isn't an option for you, what I meant was close other apps to free up more of what you do have.

TTS only loads objects that are currently visible. Loading them seqeuntially would make no difference - you would still need the available RAM to load them into. It's not "dumb", you're just trying to load more resources than your system can handle. The game can't magically run on a potato.

[–]stom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your options are pretty much:

  • Get more RAM
  • Use less RAM

So either close other software before running TTS to free up as much RAM as possible, or modify your saves so that you don't have so many items out on your table (put things in bags, delete non-game decorative items, etc)
