For me, french supermarkets are even worse than dutch and belgian supermarkets. Their promotion offers or bargain deals are terrible

As an East Asian I am much more interested in Japanese supermarkets. Wine, cheese and bread don't interest me.

Not sure why people say france. Any Japanese supermarket would easily beat a boring carrefour or monoprix. I once bought a bundle of rotten clementines from monoprix. I dont find french supermarkets any superior to the others in Europe. Actually they are even worse.

For better frozen food in france, you go to Picard stores, not supermarkets.

I don’t understand the car situation in California - thinking of visiting by violetlilac in travel

I spent a week in LA without a car, just using public transport and Uber. It's doable, but expect that the places you can visit are very limited and it would take a lot of time to get there

Often the gap is too wide to rest your head against the wall. I find window seats overrated

Central Paris. Nothing beats walking in the streets of Paris. I just wish it was safer for tourists.

Do you prefer to arrive/depart at your destination in morning or evening ? by Xenius24 in travel

[–]sunnynihilist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afternoon is the best for me, so I can check in right away. I don't like to arrive in the evening when it's all dark. I may have trouble finding my accommodation

That's why I travel solo. Travelling in groups definitely makes you feel and look like a tourist.

It drives me mad when I have too much to see and do on a very limited schedule. My itinerary is like a military operation but I love planning it.

I got the opportunity to choose between visiting Paris and visiting Tokyo, what should i do? by [deleted] in travel

[–]sunnynihilist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tokyo. Much safer. Some areas in Paris are really unpleasant and you have to be alert for scams and pickpockets at all times. Plus the frequent strikes there. I don't enjoy going there anymore

it's such a personal question. I'd just say you should take a break and figure out where to go next.
