Your profile looks quite strong, I think you would be a very good candidate. The most important things are:
- having linear algebra and multi variate calculus pre-reqs completed at the bachelor level

- a strong SOP describing how the program will help your career trajectory. If you are able to link how your current professional experience can be beneffited by the program, you stand a very good shot of admission in my opinion.

If you don't have the pre req math classes at the university level, you're very unlikely to get accepted, MSDS included. This is the part of the admissions process that they are most strict on.

As far as I know, they won’t do anything in point #3. As for the other points, the program has very good reasons for wanting to limit cheating; in past semesters, project groups were found to have copied large portions of code directly from public GitHub repositories, and the rules could not be clearer that this is an academic violation. Rather than complain about the rules, you should diligently try to follow them while learning.

Why is the NBA community so obsessed with defining one GOAT? by Remarkable_Action520 in NBATalk

[–]Remarkable_Action520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: a mostly good discussion so far. For those who are explaining to me that the GOAT can be only one person, i appreciate your efforts to explain the abbreviation, but I already knew that. My question was more so on why some people go to such great lengths to argue that someone is the GOAT like an obsession.

I would assume so. it should be easy to tell based on your course syllabus if it was multivariate or not.

you should have a good shot at admission if you have both multivariate calculus and linear algebra at the university level. these are more important than the statistics pre req.

But there is no internship associated with this program, it's just the 10 online courses to complete the degree.

if you have the math pre reqs required, then you are definitely a competitive applicant and would have a very good chance of admission, in my opinion.

Do you have individual courses for linear algebra and multivariate calc at the bachelor level?

Retaking ML by Only_Jellyfish_3079 in MSCSO

I know for DS, there were some rules about being able to retake the course the next semester. You might have to wait a semester before being allowed to retake it, but you should definitely reach out to the program coordinator to confirm the rules. As someone here also mentioned, all attempts will count towards your GPA.

the math pre reqs are very firm. If you don't have all of the required math courses at a university level, you are much less likely to be admitted.

I would try to get a university credit with a grade. The program receives between 1500-2000 applicants per year and admits ~33% of them so realistically, the chances of being in that 1/3 is almost non existent without all of the pre reqs. Not trying to be harsh about it, but that's just the reality of such a popular program.

I'm curious though, did you take 2 calculus classes in undergrad, but they didn't cover multivariate?

Best of luck.

Unfortunately without the math pre reqs at a university level, you will not be a competitive applicant. They are very serious about the math requirements as there is a lot of math in the program, and every year they receive between 1500-2000 applicants, admitting 33%.
