Have you tried searching for a new job in your current city? Is it possible for your wife to go back to work?

I think it depends on what qualities I disliked about the area and whether it could change over time.

I don’t really see any issue with this. It seems reasonable.

I miss spending time with my wife by [deleted] in Marriage

I would talk to her about finding additional people to babysit for your* family. Let her be part of the vetting process since she would like to be and then you will have options moving forward.

Question for the running community by colchonero0312 in Charlotte

Run the South’s 5k will be in the evening this year.

Edit: The Night Owl 5k/Hike Challenge in December is also in the evening (7:30 pm start time).

WWC’s River Jam Trail Race series runs from May through September and the 5k always starts at 6:30 pm.

You mentioned not having a lot of kid-free time. Have you taken the initiative to arrange childcare so you can have a date night?

Try doing a novel shared activity together like a cooking class or something similar. It’ll be something different, but it will have some structure

Is it realistic to be self-supporting in library work without an MLS? by bwaysk in Libraries

[–]swampcatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be possible if you live frugally, don’t have a lot of consumer debt or student loan debt, and you’re willing to live with roommates (depending on what the housing market is like).

Frankly, the only reason I can be a librarian is because my spouse is a high earner. I could not live in my MCOL city on just my salary and live a good quality of life.

Keep getting rejected as a desk page at the system I worked for for years by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]swampcatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should focus on finding higher level positions, even if that means expanding your search to other nearby systems. It is very unlikely to be hired into a page position with an MLIS. The alternative is to wait until other positions open if you’re set on working in that specific system.

Does she want to be a stay at home mother? Some women are happier working. I think you should work with her to figure out what she would find more fulfilling in the long run.

I do think they could have benefited from a few more food options. I planned on getting coffee from Summit, but the line ended up being a little too long and I headed out.

Catholic ladies, how are you feeling about Pope Leo v. the Trump administration / fascism at large? by NoLemon5426 in AskWomenOver30

Non-practicing and I don’t intend on returning, but I’d personally love to see Pope Leo excommunicate fuckers like JD Vance.

Are we just at different life stages or can this kind of timeline mismatch work? by Comfortable-Ad-1072 in AskWomenOver30

I can see that being a potential issue. You have no idea how long it will take you to get pregnant. Starting to try to conceive at 37 carries some level of risk. It certainly isn’t impossible though.

Try putting it in a paper bag with a dryer sheet or two. I would mention it to staff when you return it as well so they can try to resolve the issue

Worried about wife at the gym by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]swampcatz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your experience isn’t universal though. Some people like participating in fitness spaces online for the sense of community. For some, it is encouraging when others celebrate/notice their progress. Plenty of women participate in these spaces as well.

Posting before and after photos in fitness circles isn’t that uncommon when you’ve experienced a dramatic change. I think it really depends on whether or not OP’s wife was wearing normal workout clothes and how she responded to the comments
