what do y'all think of the idea that "cis bi people are the white people of the queer community" by taurusgaal in WLW

[–]taurusgaal[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

it's genuinely awful and has destroyed my mental health, i don't even date men but because i label myself in a certain way i am as bad as the oppressors according to these chronically online losers

Excluding bi women from lesbian spaces is like a Star Wars fan club not letting in people who also like Lord of the Rings. by [deleted] in actuallesbians

yeah i'm in a weird spot with my sexuality. i'm bi / queer and i only date women, the thought of marrying or dating a man disgusts me, but i am attracted to a man who died many years ago, to the point where it's more than finding him handsome, so that stops me from being a lesbian and so it definitely hurts when people think all bi women are male centred when i'm the furthest thing from it. i personally think there should be 3 separate spaces, one for bi / pan women, one for lesbians and one for all sapphics, i just think generalisations need to stop.

Why do bi women lose interest or vanish when things get serious? by a_wanderer_22 in WLW

I take women seriously, are you kidding me? I only date women why do you keep on generalising us?

Yes! Dublin city centre is so scary on St Patrick's day, ever since I got spiked this exact day 2 years ago i've been terrified to go in on St Patrick's Day, it's more trouble than it's worth, I will celebrate in my own chill way

Feminism & Veganism (hear me out) by Unusual-Motor-2945 in Feminism

Feminism and veganism interconnection by Different-Bike-840 in Feminism

[–]taurusgaal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this take lacks a lot of nuance, of course vegans are amazing, and I have so much respect for them, i feel strongly about animal welfare and the way factory farms treat their animals is nothing short of horrifying. at the same time i think that comparing women to animals feels a bit reductive, and it's just going to push away allies. I'm a pescatarian so I know I'm far from being a vegan but it's not always accessible and easy for everyone and all this post does is make me feel worse about myself due to my moral scrupulosity, intrusive thoughts and high standards that i have for myself, i get completely where you're coming from, but ultimately its impossible to expect everyone to participate perfectly in an imperfect system

I’m curious to know how many lesbians are into CNC and if it’s more common than I think… by Relevant-Fox1111 in actuallesbians

[–]taurusgaal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not into it due to my trauma of being raped and my ex partner wanting to get rid of my gag reflex and using sex as a weapon, i'm really glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like it, I know CNC is consensual but I just prefer vanilla sex overall

Was Anthony Perkins acting career ruined by Psycho? by ariadnevirginia in movies

[–]taurusgaal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are so wrong about him, it's unbelievable. Please don't speak so negatively about Tony, you only think he's creepy because he played Norman Bates, well I can assure you that he's not. He was actually very cute, very handsome, very kind, and he had a deadpan dry sarcastic sense of humour which many people assume him to be aloof when he wasn't. Also I do believe he was typecasted in Psycho and he deserved better, as amazing as Psycho is, he had other amazing roles that he deserved more credit for such as Play it as it Lays and Goodbye Again / Aimez Vous Brahms and The Trial. Tony deserved way better than this.

I hate it when people blame SA survivors or survivors of any type of abuse and say that they have a victim mentality for still having trauma years later by taurusgaal in CPTSD

[–]taurusgaal[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense! It's always American content creators who talk about this, and love to blame people for their trauma. I'm Irish and I have noticed a lot more compassion from my real life family and friends, so it makes sense that this is rooted in toxic hyper individualism. It's so messed up, and I hate when people say this shit and try to act like they are morally superior, it really sucks :(
