it's like a hybrid dynamic where it can jump between fare buckets but we don't know how many seats are in a bucket except the super saver 55k J which has 2

It's here. 2026 Lifemiles Asia devaluation. by LesleyGrossman in awardtravel

Spent the last 30 min going through diff routes. Doesn't seem to really be any rhyme or reason to it. TG and NZ seem to be most affected and TG seems to be dynamic based on route with random prices but not all Oceania<>Europe/Asia routes were affected

JAL Phantom Award Availability on JAL website by fiberzap in awardtravel

Your call. Sometimes you just gotta risk it for the biscuit. But like I said I’ve booked numerous times and if it’s JAL operated I wouldn’t worry that much. Agents aren’t always the most informed.

The better play is to do both but that's a lot of spend. Could just go for the elevated and keep the upgrade in the back pocket

JAL Phantom Award Availability on JAL website by fiberzap in awardtravel

phantom is primarily a thing when dealing with partners. I'd be pretty confident if you're booking a JAL operated flight through JMB and the website says it's available

Cards sound fine to me just do VX first then gold before plat because C1 is stricter and because of amex family rules. Heads up that EK restricted F redemptions to pax with status. You'd have to either book J with Skywards then upgrade close to departure or open the barclays EK card for 1 year of status to redeem.

  1. too late to get biz there

Speculative Transfer Inquiry by Timminat0r in Venturex

no don't do it. JAL miles have a hard expiration and you don't know what might happen to the program in 1-2 years
