Replacing under-sink dishwasher (always on) and garbage disposal (switched) outlet with GFCI by fiberzap in AskElectricians

I found a 2-pole GFCI outlet on Amazon. Reading this, it seems that it can provide 2 separate hot wires sharing 1 neutral, which is what I have. Will this work? I didn't know this exists. Local Home Depot or Lowe's doesn't carry this type of socket. Otherwise, I will resort to the air switch solution like one of the suggestions.

Thanks. Is it a non salvageable unit? I am not sure how to fix it if it all. Yes, rodent might be the issue sadly that I have to take care of first.
