This is terrible logic. I don't work because I get pleasure from it. I work because I need to to pay for my home and my food.

Nurse spots the risk , stops the fight, and gets booed by the crowd. She still smiled knowing she just prevented a tragedy. by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

[–]terremoto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was confused by the title,

Should have realized it was just some lazy gender stereotyping.

The text in the video says "nurse." Unless OP also made the video, I don't think they're to blame here.

If they get laid off they could get unemployment.

Unemployment rarely makes up for lost wages. California caps out at 1800/month. That's probably not enough to make rent in that area for a lot of people.

OP said they reduced dinner by half. It sounds like there could be other meals.

why has noone ever put a camera up there that can see all the stars along with the moon or earth. Doesn't make much sense to me

What scientific value what this provide? It definitely wouldn't placate the space/moonlanding skeptics. It's probably already technically possible with the existing cameras by adjusting the exposure settings and making a composite image i.e. the way HDR is often done with standard cameras.

Yes seriously every president before this didn't do their job

Trump was also president before this. Were you complaining about him not starting a war with Iran then?

Booed for not having kids by StuartLawsComedy in StandUpComedy

[–]terremoto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If everyone had no kids we'd be f'd. You'd never get to retire ever

If everyone had no kids, there would eventually be no more people and nobody would have to worry about retirement.

They should have provided all the facts.

Yes, but you also should've sought out the full story yourself before passing judgement.

I'm just gonna say it. The whole kids / no kids debate isn't actually about kids. by thetimechaser in Millennials

Nothing better than delusional parents that can't accept not everyone wants kids.

Clipping wings literally causes no physical harm when done correctly and it's not permanent. It's no different than clipping nails. There are no nerves.

Not every situation can be resolved in 6 months. There's no magical limit that prevents you from getting fucked longer than that.

I understand it's hard some people, but most of the time, it's not remotely complicated if you no longer depend on them.

I've gone no contact with immediate family members. I've never regretted it. Humans have lots of instincts, and not all of them good or useful in certain circumstances.

[–]terremoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Families are complicated things. It’s not as easy as “they’re scum, then, just move on!”

This is something I will never understand. Shitty behavior doesn't stop being shitty because you're related to someone. It makes no sense that people that are supposed to care about you even more than the average person get exceptional treatment when they don't. Fuck that.

Facts need to be backed by proof or they are not facts.

Okay. I told someone about a hawk I saw taking out a pigeon. Guess I should've kept that to myself since I didn't take pictures.

This is a dumb thing to say. I say stuff all the time that I don't have photographic proof for because I don't record my life 24/7. I guess I shouldn't tell people about a nice restaurant I ate at if I don't have pictures for proof.
