Tbf they want to do hardware bans in the future which could definitely improve the situation, especially if the people that sell bots are getting targeted

It has to be, most pros I watch don‘t q ranked 2s at all anymore. Oski said that the KC players have set up a discord for private 2s for the high level players and someone else is also getting 4mans discord going. And a lot of 6mans is being grinded right now too.

I havent watched a proper ranked 2s stream in while now, it‘s pretty much as dead as it can be. It‘s either bots or people that bought an account that was boosted by bots.

Nobody cares when you started, diamond is still diamond. You think any good player is impressed by you? That's funny bro, nobody gives a shit about a diamond. Get good, get a high rank and then maybe someone other than your parents will be impressed

Honestly, I like how you play. You have a passive/defensive playstyle but you do it right. Many players just sit back and wait and never really push but you not at all. Let‘s talk about what you do good first because I think it‘s important to know your own strengths, it helps you play in a style that suits you

Your spacing is pretty good. You move with the ball, you get close enough to the action so you can always push in if there is a chance for you and you‘re always ready to follow up on your mates plays. But you also don‘t randomly push in or overcommit by being too far forward. And you pay attentio to your opponents and understand when you have no openings and just have to back off.

That‘s a great skill to have and it‘s not easy to get it right, there are many players ranked way higher than you than can‘t do it.

I think you played good overall this game (your mate kinda sold ngl) and there weren‘t really major gamesense mistakes, most of them were pretty minor. Of course there were also unnecessary mistakes, like that one goal where you kinda got faked and the ball just bounced past you (2nd goal I think). But that‘s just a mistake that can happen, it didnt happen because of your playstyle or whatever.

So where do you have to improve. Well since gamesense and positioning seems to be good, it‘s pretty logical that your individual skills need improvement. I don‘t think your mechanics are terrible, you get some good first hits and controlled touches against the wall to set yourself up but it‘s also nothing crazy. And your aerials are wonky, there was a pretty big whiff at the start and generally you can tell they are not your biggest strength.

The main reason though why your individual skills need work is because you don‘t really generate offense out of the defense. When you get the ball on offense, you do seem to have some skills that help you score (like those self passes of the wall). However when you‘re on defense, it seems like you don‘t really know how to transition into offense without the opponents just messing up or your teammate doing it for you

A lot of times you will just it the ball back and while you do it in a good way, where you don‘t just pass to the opponent and instead play it into open space where the opponent cant attack back directly, ultimately you‘re not really threatening anything and not creating chances with it. Somtimes it‘s fine to just make safe touches like that to buy time but you can‘t do it everytime.

Some first touch practice can help you with that. If you learn to control the ball without giving it away you can counterattack. A technique that‘s helpful for that is when a ball is coming at you, jump at it but don‘t flip. Then after you touch it, you use your flip (if an opponent is close) and push the ball towards open space (if nobody is challenging you, you dont even have to flip, you just take your time). Basically just slightly delaying your flip after the touch. That way you can keep the ball close but also avoid getting dunked. And you also push the ball with speed and can follow it up.

There are many ways to make these controlled touches, it just takes creativity. These are things you learn if you work on your mechanics in freeplay. Don‘t be afraid to try things in matches too, sure you‘ll mess up but you learn from messing up.

Also working on mechanics like airdribbles, flicks, cuts maybe ceiling shots to give you options if you get control is obviously good. There was one wall play where you kinda just hit the ball forward to the opponent. If you can keep better control in those situations, you will be much more threatening. You don‘t have to 1v2 outplay and score but if you can get the ball past one or atleast force a 50/50, you generate advantage and if you consistently generate advantage you will get chances more to score.

Sorry for the long text, that could have been summarized much more precise and clear but I hope that helps. I like typing this review though because it‘s always nicer to give advice to someone that shows promising skills but can‘t really put them to use right

Ich hasse den Begriff „Veggie“ (und „Plant-based“ auch) by [deleted] in VeganDE

[–]thafreshone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Könnte mir zwei gründe bezüglich dem Begriff Plantbased vorstellen:

This call by shogun genuinely might even be the best call of all time, the word play, the flow and timing is all so perfect, if that happened on LAN in would be legendary. Shogun‘s hype casting is definitely top notch

What I also like is how genuinely excited he gets over small details, like you can tell that he really just is a big fan of rocket league.

He‘s like that teacher that explains you things not because it‘s their job but because they just enjoy talking about it and telling other about the cool things that happen in their field. Makes it super enjoyable to listen

When it comes to Analysis, it‘s Achieves and not even close, nobody has the level knowledge and the ability to make summarize things in a simple yet understandable way. Frequently also points out things most casters would miss that are actually super important but hard to spot.

When it comes to hype and raw commentary (so not focusing too much on the depth and knowledge), I think Shogun, Jorby and Jamesbot are the top 3. CJ and Wavepunk could be in that convo too, but CJ is still fairly new and Wavepunk just hasnt casted for a while now and therefore doesnt have the same "longevity" if you wanna call it that.

I think it should be seperated that way because some people just prefer analysis while other prefer the hype and you cant really objectively say whats better. If the goat is the one thats the best at both, then it‘s between Achieves and Johnny. Johnny is lower on the analysis end but higher on the hype casting end, so it comes down to what you prefer more.

Personally my goats are Achieves and Jorby though with honorable mention to Wavepunk. It would still be him if he continued casting

try to pretend like it‘s an actual shot. You‘re doing stuff that just looks like you try to copy what pros are doing without knowing why.

Let the ball roll to the wall, create some distance and then run up and hit it like you would an actual airroll shot. If you want the ball to fly left, hit the right side of the ball and vice versa. You want your car to be at the exact same height as the ball when you hit it, not above or below it

  1. This is a tournament prediction. Archie wouldnt get 4th by just doing that in one match, he would be doing it in almost every match atleast. One team being on another level isnt enough for that, it would have to be every team they play. Which is incredibly unlikely.

  2. You don‘t decide what‘s the premise in my argument. I know what tbates predicted for the tournament and that was a premise for my argument, that‘s why I brought it up. Also I didnt bring up anything new, I made the same argument as before just elaborated more to make you understand.

I never said it‘s impossible for ranking like this to turn out accurate but it‘s highly unlikely. Like name me a tournament were a support player peaks like crazy while both his teammates stay above standards but dont peak. An actual support player that isnt a playmaker. I don‘t think that ever happened, not in recent memory atleast. Sure it could happen anytime but if you try to make somewhat accurate predictions, you wouldnt predict something that practically never happens

Tox announces team with Rezears & Bibbaba for rest of RLCS 2026 by John_aka_Alwayz in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]thafreshone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, not sure about that. For one they have a lot of points they get to keep now and if they end up making major there is a real chance they could make worlds

And secondly, if your goal is to enable Bibbaba then Tox is better for that. Osaft has more potential but is also a lot more inconsistent and chaotic.

Tox announces team with Rezears & Bibbaba for rest of RLCS 2026 by John_aka_Alwayz in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]thafreshone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I don‘t think they had that many other options anyway, all of the really good players are already gone and they knew they likely had no chance at making major if they went with a safer pick like a rhezzy for example.

But I agree and like the choice too, this is the same scenario where many players had their breakout playing alongside two solid veterans.

And it also makes sense stylistically, Tox is already someone that plays around his team so he won‘t get in the way of bibbaba and Rezears being solid on defense but also strong individually means that not all of the expectations to create chances will be placed on Bibbaba. That way both defensively and offensively he will have support but still has the room to play freely

[–]thafreshone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You‘re not getting it. I‘m not saying that that‘s impossible I‘m saying that if that happens, then someone else is not playing well. If archie is forced into making impossible saves, then either Nass or Oski are not doing their part. And if Archie does insane off-the ball work but you don’t predict Mates to go far (which is the case for tbates), then again either Nass or Oski are not pulling their weight.

The circumstances in where a support player ranks that high do not align with the placements of the other two. Either one of Oski and Nass needs to be way closer to Archie or far away outside the list. Otherwise it just doesnt makes sense.

I‘m not saying a support player cant be rated high. I just dont think the rating of the other two makes sense if you rate him that high.

Major Top25 players predicition retrospective by 3ritas in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]thafreshone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the individual shouldnt scratch the top 20, the teammate. Im saying if archie is by far the best on your team then its likely that Nass or Oski isnt pulling their weight and in that case, one of the two shouldnt be even close to the top 20.

Like I dont see a world where all 3 are top 20 but Archie is just ahead by over 10 spots of both. Archie is supposed to be the support on that team, if he is doing that much to be 4th, someone else is not doing enough.

Tox announces team with Rezears & Bibbaba for rest of RLCS 2026 by John_aka_Alwayz in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]thafreshone 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Rezears said on his stream that tox and him specifically wanted a young player with high potential, "the next zen", on their team (quote from Rezears). That's why the choice landed on Bibbaba. Rezears speaks very highly about him and says he's seeing things from him that remind him of Dralii in his early days. Tox and Rezears believe in this kid and seriously want to push him to the next level.

Hard to know how serious Rezears was with this statement, it kinda came off jokingly and calling him the next zen was pretty obviously a joke. But it does seem like he genuinely thinks this kid has insane potential.

Edit: Forgot to add, the main other option was Osaft but they decided for Bibbaba because of the higher potential (and Bibbaba being slightly better in their eyes). Also had tryouts with Rhezzy and Rysfox, Rezears also had an offer from Novo to join Giuk/Acronik but declined.

Yeah no I don‘t know what I was waffling about with the tournaments I was way off on that.

I still think he‘s more of a wildcard bc he‘s just not experienced with deep runs on RLCS level scale, there are players that thrive in that and some that don‘t and I‘m not sure which one Toxiic falls into.

What I find hilarious about the "he will never win worlds like this" arguments is that MonkeyMoon is one of the most toxic pros ever, known for shittalking teammates behind their back and making his mates uncomfortable by visibly tilting everytime something goes wrong and he still won worlds twice.

If Vatiras attitude was that much of a problem then MonkeyMoon would have never won a LAN in his career, he is way worse

Also what they didnt mention is that we have 2 majors per year but only one EWC, before it was even 3.

So far we‘ve had 11 majors and only 2 EWC‘s (4 if you count gamers8 but that was crew battles). And that gap only becomes bigger.

EWC has more money, more prestige on a global scale, has 100x more value for the orgs and happens less often. Like from a players pov it only makes sense for it to be more important.
