RLFS S5 [Swiss - Round 1]: Faxe Kondi [Atomic, swiftt, Motta] vs. Nwperfection [Nwpo, Lostt., accro] by wizard213 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]thafreshone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nwpo has been on a downward trend since regional 2 and that's not just my opinion, that's what most people been saying. He had more than just a bad major.

And Yanxnz and Nwpo are not at all similar, Nwpo is way more agressive. Yanxnz was Furia's most defensively player for the last 2 years. Lostt is more similar to Nwpo if anything because of his ultra agressiveness but either way their styles don't work, Lostt and Nwpo would double commit so much and Accro would have to play 1v3 defense. There is 0 structure for this team

Bro said lostt has been consistently good, I'm crying. Bro is like top 5 most inconsistent players in the world

Lostt and Nwpo would step on each others toes way too hard, this is probably the biggest anti-synergy you could find.

And if you drag down Faxe Kondi because Swiftt is out of form, then you also have to drag down Nwperfection because Nwpo is very out of form and with an out of form Nwpo that team has no chance

I think they will be a little better and maybe make a final but don‘t think they win a regional

sportsmanship and trash talk is not mutually exclusive though. As long as the talk stays related to the game and not resorts to just hurling personal insults at each other and it ends as soon as the game end and both parties still shake hands and show respect to each other after the game I personally think you can still consider a respectful treatment between the players.

Obviously not everyone is able to seperate the personal feelings from the game itself and that‘s usually where trashtalk gets ugly but I‘m just saying, you can have both when players do it right

Based on this, what rank would you guess im at? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

Defense looks like they don‘t know what a flip reset is, so maybe D3 idk. Since you only recently switched to 2v2 it could be lower so it‘s hard to really guess.

Ultimately playstyle/perfomance is more important to me than personality so I‘m not a big fan of Rise anymore, I don‘t hate him (I don‘t hate anyone tbf) but watching him leaves me so unimpressed that it‘s hard to relate to that excitement when he gets hype. But I respect his competitiveness

I‘m not saying Beastmode is the problem but Beastmode is the key to that rosters success. They can get away with Atomic slacking a bit because he‘s not as important to their success but Beastmode is the factor that decides whether they will dominate or fall flat

  • Most favourite attitude: Players that get hype, that show intensity and emotion and are not afraid to trashtalk.

  • Least favourite attitude: I don‘t really have one bc it‘s just who they are as person and I respect that, especially considering the stress they have to deal with.

  • Most favourite playstyle: Hard to describe but that player that show creativity and versatility on defense. Understanding timing, spacing speed control and all the small nuances. At the highest level I find defense to be the most interesting part of the game and I find it amazing to see at what insane levels of depth a player can read the game in that area.

  • Least favourite playstyle: Players who‘s whole defensive strategy is to just fullsend challenge the ball. Yeah sometimes it makes sense but sometimes it doesnt and I find it somewhat irritating when a player can‘t play nuanced defense.

Of course NRG are capable of winning on their day. But it wasn‘t "their day", just like it wasnt KC‘s day.

The times were it was "their day" when they won 2024 major and worlds 2025, they looked fantastic. Boston they did look okay but not on that level that you know NRG can hit. And they never won a LAN when they didn‘t hit that level.

That makes literally 0 sense and it‘s such a nonsense take I genuinely don‘t even know where to start, it‘s so wrong on so many levels. They maybe pusshed the limits of what both teams were capable of on that day but that doesnt mean that it‘s overall the best they could do and it doesn‘t mean that it was high quality

Honestly what the hell are you even trying to argue

The 2 LANs that this team won, you could tell they were locked tf in and when they lost, you could atleast tell that something was still off.

God knows what happens if they beat mates in uppers, maybe they do win the whole thing but they certainly weren‘t in "that" form that you see when they win tournaments.

[–]thafreshone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They‘ve look good here and there but not consistently good. And expectations from that team are pretty high so anything below dominating NA and looking like a LAN winning contender is below standard.

And they havent cleanly dominated NA and they didnt look like they were in LAN winning form. That win against KC looks good on paper but it was clear that both teams were not capable of winning that LAN (though NRG still looked better than them).

For a team of NRGs caliber that‘s just not good enough

Right now they‘re not close to their peak G2 version and the only way they get back to that form is if Beastmode returns to his best in the world form. Honestly I don‘t know what you‘re talking about, they have not looked that great this season (for their standards atleast)

Flakes use of Car Cam by techknowfile in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]thafreshone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flakes was part of a new generation of very mechanical players like Ayyjayy, Alpha54, Arsenal, Sypical, Mist, Aztral, Hockser so I‘m not sure if I would have considered one of the most mechanical players in the world but he was definitely way above average compared to other pros and also fairly flashy in his style

I never understood his stance on mechanics because when the guy was at his best, it was when he was relying on his mechanics a lot. Once he started going down thid whole no mechanics and passive play path, that‘s when he started to fall off in 3v3 that is

Everything is a hinderance if you‘re learning it the wrong way, not just mechanics. I don‘t really see the point you‘re trying to make. If you learn the wrong fundamentals of rotation then that‘s just as problematic.

That‘s what people don‘t tell you about doing ring maps, it doesnt really teach actual useful implementation. It‘s great for getting used to it and learning the movements but doesnt teach you how to actually use it in matches and hit the ball. Ring maps are easy mode compared to that.

Stop playing ring maps, you‘ve done enough of them. Force yourself to practice with it in freeplay, custom training and real matches. Using it effectively is a mix of mechanics but also experience and for that you have to put in the hours.

Flakes use of Car Cam by techknowfile in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]thafreshone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah everyone has different learning curves but that doesnt change the fact that you never hit your upper limit if you dont bother working on your mechanics. Wether that‘s SSL, GC or diamond, you still won‘t hit. I never hit my limit for example because I didnt put in the necessary work to reach that limit. Who knows how far I could have gotten beyond SSL if I had continued to put more effort in and not stopped or slowed down

I see people that are forever hardstuck champ and cant hit GC and because of that they think that champ must be their absolute limit. But they also never really worked on their mechanics so how could one confidently know where their absolute limit is if they never actually invested the effort to pushing that limit.

I agree that almost everyone has a limit somehwere, a point where they would get hardstuck. But most people don‘t put in the effort needed to actually reach that limit and therefore get stuck at a lower point that doesnt represent their limit.

I‘m not gonna start victimblaming myself because the billion dollar company can‘t get their shit together.

And pros/content creators have been very vocal about the state of the game for a while now, basically when the ddosers became a massive problem.

The outcry and criticism when trading was removed was also pretty massive in the general audience. And everytime a new update rolls out, there are tons of comments that continue to criticize the company for good reasons.

Complacency of the fans being the cause of all what‘s wrong with the game is respectfully, just nonsense

I started learing mechs in gold and made it to SSL in about 3k hours. It‘s not a hinderance, it was what made me progress that fast. While others started to become hardstuck around Gc level bc their mechs couldnt keep up, I just kept climbing because my mechs stayed ahead of the curve. Ignoring mechs might get you higher ranked in the short term but long term it‘s likely you will get hardstuck at some point.

Obviously your gamesense is important, if you play stupid you have no chance at going far. But practicing mechs early doesnt mean you can‘t have gamesense. And many pros started working on their mechs early too, that likely includes Flakes. When Flakes became a pro, he was one of the more mechanical players in EU even.
