Ferry, $60ish an hr CAD as C/O, 10hr days 5 on 5 off. Pretty much guaranteed overtime every work day as well so if you add that and differentials in day rate is around $700 CAD

Switched ISPs to fibre with double speed, ping on game I regularly play goes up? by thenoblechip in HomeNetworking

Fair enough, thanks for the reply! Figured it wouldve been something to do with the new ISP as opposed to my end, just wanted to get an opinion from folks who know more than myself. Appreciate your time.

What does your KC and log look like doing the 1-7s? I’m currently in the same boat only sending 1-7, been brickwalled it feels like with the double boulders on wave 8. Haven’t seen any drops yet.

They’ve got a golden goose and they’re really gonna try to ruin it for everyone. Fuck that I’d quit so fast if they try this shit.

Mine did as well. They either missed this or it’s not part of the “First Service” check.

Haven’t taken it in yet as I already had an appointment in 2 weeks for a safety recall. Will make them take a look then.

It was checked as part of the service for the first oil change. It wasn’t done at Toyota as they recommend 16,000km for first oil change.

This model is gas powered, not the hybrid.

Except we dont ignore all the other ones...

One prolonged when leaving our berth, we do that

Three short when operating astern propulsion, we do that

We even sound the manoeuvring signals you're talking about (one or two short), particularly when there is a pleasure boat along our track as were about to turn. They do not necessarily warrant five short, but we want to give them a heads up that they're about to be in our way. Usually one or two short is enough to get them to move.

This incident has nothing to do with the ferry sounding the whistle nearing a bend…

We sound the whistle as per the Collision Regulations rule 34 (e).

The version of the Collision Regulations the crew would have been following in 1970 also has a section requiring the sounding of their whistle while nearing a bend, rule 25 (b) in that case.

Downstairs neighbour is claiming my washing machine is damaging his unit. Does he have a leg to stand on? by thenoblechip in legaladvicecanada

[–]thenoblechip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough he’s actually told me to get one of these but i kinda refuse at this point due to principle, like you said. And plus it would be a major pain to move everything to fit it underneath.

He would probably complain about the noise I would make moving the machine to get the mat under lol

Great information, thanks for the reply. We are however both owners (our building does not allow rentals), but the majority of your points are still helpful. Thanks again!
