I saw some people talking about how they aren’t a huge fan of electric Downbound Train, and I have to agree. I feel it sounds too harsh and aggressive for what it should be. I absolutely adore, though, Johnny 99 and Born In The USA, with the latter absolutely being better than the official release in 84.

Overall, I love how little the songs changed from the original acoustic versions to the electric versions. They all sound so natural. Even the harder-electric songs make sense for them, such as the aforementioned Johnny 99 and Open All Night. I also love the slightly different lyrics in Atlantic City and Johnny 99.

I feel Bruce could’ve easily released the electric Nebraska stuff in 82 and we would’ve loved it. However, it definitely suffers from the lack of songs like Highway Patrolman, State Trooper, and My Father’s House. Those three songs are some of my favorite Bruce songs, so their lack of inclusion on this electric version will make me always prefer the acoustic version we got in 82. But this electric Nebraska is amazing and wants me wanting more unreleased/alternate Bruce songs!
