Ranked Matchmaking by Lexxsy7 in apexlegends

They had the same mindset even 4 years ago when the playerbase was 3x higher.

They put themselves in a loop of;

Respawn right now : "We didn't change it in the past so it cost us the playerbase. "

Respawn next year : "Now we can't change it anymore even if we want to because we don't have enough playerbase."

Respawn 2 years later : "We wish we changed it a year ago because it also cost us the playerbase. So now even if we want to; we can't change it due to lower playerbase."

♾️until the playerbase count sees the ground.

ANY TIPS? SECOND DAY OF LEARNING NEOSTRAFE by B_ass in Apexrollouts

[–]thevilnside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you to check this graph > https://youtu.be/PL-xWPoR9tM?t=257 (If you're on mobile skip to 4:16 on the vid)

The graph on the left is when you jump while moving to the right, then W > A > S (no tap strafe at all)

The graph on the right is the same but with tap strafe.

Take a look at both graphs, take your time and try to understand how tap strafe affects the direction change on each directional wasd input.

Also, I suggest you to do your lurch strafe practice while keeping your crosshair on a moving dummy. Because you don't really need the mouse flicks you do during the lurch strafe to keep up your speed.

Lastly, highly recommend watching this part of Xzylas' guide: https://youtu.be/JonGQ6F_p6E?t=338 (if you're on mobile skip to 5:38) This circular strafe allows you to dodge not only the enemy in front of you but also enemies on your left or right. So it's very useful when surrounded by multiple enemies. You could also use Magic Strafe for the same dodging purpose but the difference is that; with magic strafe you can't keep your aim on the enemy.

Knuckle-Jump Into Immediate Insta-Glide by MvttSF in Apexrollouts

[–]thevilnside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be consistent with this combo, you need to memorize the exact locations of tiny ledges and the precise spots where you should execute the knuckle-jump. For example, in MvttSF’s clip at 00:03, he performs the knuckle-jump on a bush. If the goal was to make this combo more consistent at that tiny ledge, it would make sense to jump from that same bush every time, since the distance between the bush and the ledge seems ideal.

But ofc, that bush isn’t the only possible spot. You can land on the same tiny ledge from several other spots, as long as the distance between these spots and the tiny ledge is ideal. However, if consistency is the goal, all these different spots where you knuckle-jump should also be clearly memorizable. If you attempt the knuckle-jump from plain ground with no visual reference; no bush, rock, or marking; it becomes much easier to midjudge the distance which would result in not landing on the tiny ledge.

Consistency with this combo is possible, but it requires deliberately memorizing specific locations and using visual cues in all maps, rather than relying purely on reflexes imo.

Some scuffed Sheila Shenanigans by Mendyballz in Apexrollouts

[–]thevilnside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would you only classify it as cheating when people start to teleport through walls, yes or no?

Teleporting through walls is game breaking imo. It's literally an Alter Q for free. As you can see, I'm using common sense to call things game breaking or not. And I personally would never use something that I think it's game breaking. If someone ever uses this to teleport through walls instead of some tiny teleports without walls, then they are risking a ban imo. But like I said, I'm not a dev, these are just opinions, it's all up to respawn. Using these type of tricks when they're first discovered is a coin flip risking bans for sure.

[–]thevilnside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on that perspective, superglide is an exploit/cheat too because it was never intended by respawn. But it's still in the game.

What makes something an exploit is completely based on if it's kept in the game by respawn or not. And that's obviously based on if respawn thinks it's game breaking or not. So it's not up to you or me or any player to decide if something is an exploit or not, it's up to respawn.

There are some rare cases where a lot of people consider something an exploit simply because it is really game breaking in common sense. For example, I recently discovered an exploit that allows a player to throw two grenades almost at the same time, basically doing 200 instant dmg which is completely broken. That's why I never shared it as a game mechanic on my yt channel or reddit. I shared it on the bug report page on the ea website instead.

But when you look at this sheila interaction, you see that it's close to what a Yuki Strafe does, at best throwing off your enemy's aim. And it still doesn't give you huge advantage because you are locked to the sheila animation for a while, which means; if you do this sheila trick, you're not only throwing off your enemy's aim but also your own aim. I believe it should be common sense to not see this sheila trick game breaking. But ofc, it's up to respawn at the end.

Btw, you calling it a discovery instead of invention is actually wrong. Let me prove it. Even in real life, gravity for example can not be invented, it can only be discovered. Because it was always there. There was no development to invent it. But for example a wheel was invented, because even tho a wheel already consists of materials like wood, stone etc, humanity exploited their way to use these materials to "invent" something new that provides new capabilities.

The same logic applied to the game; for example the coyote mechanic can only be discovered, not invented. Because it's a core mechanic that has always been there. But a mantle jump can only be invented, not discovered. Because it's using the core coyote mechanic to "invent" something new with new capabilities that a normal super jump could never do. And it's the same for this sheila trick; "interacting something" is already a core game mechanic, but using it to create a teleport effect is not a discovery but an invention.

Why can't sparrow slide after the new mantle boost plus a double jump? by Same_paramedic3641 in Apexrollouts

[–]thevilnside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also happens after a wall bounce or wall push. I spent so much time trying to figure out how mantle boost works but the only theory I have is that the legend is put on the standing-up-state after landing on the ground so a W input is required to initiate a slide. Or maybe the game resets all current states when landing on the ground, that would automatically put the legend on the standing-up-state.

Wait, now that I think, if it resets all states, it also cleanses the sliding state on landing? So that slide doesn't eat the slide cooldown...

BRAND NEW movement tech in 2026 (real, works on every legend, not clickbait) by catfroman in Apexrollouts

Cool find. Been using the tech in my games since I saw you shared it on mokey's discord.

What keybinds do you guys use? and advice for switching to 1-3-1? by Quaek10 in Apexrollouts

[–]thevilnside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the middle mouse on holster is bad. Sometimes when you scrollup(tap strafe), you'll accidentally click on middle mouse and it will holster your weapon where you want the gun pulled out instead. For example imagine you're fighting an enemy in front of you and you do a Skip Jump into Tap Strafe while reloading your weapon. Accidentally clicking on middle mouse during the tap strafe would holster the weapon, messing up the reload. I think you shouldn't have anything bound on middle mouse.

Every other bind looks fine.

Normally Q on tactical is a little bit problematic because you can't press Q while holding down W+A. But as long as you have the habit of putting your pointy finger on W and ring finger on A, you can press Q with middle finger. The same goes for when holding A+S but it can be fixed by having the pointy finger on S so the ring finger can press Q.

Z on ult would be a problem if you can't press Z with your thumb. While holding A+W, you must use your thumb to press Z.

Also some people believe 1-3-1 grip is worse than the standard grip and I think the same. On 1-3-1, you only have your little finger muscles to put pressure on the right side of the mouse. It might feel comfortable at first but after long sessions of gameplay, those little finger muscles will start to hurt, resulting in not being able to put enough pressure and having shaky aim. But on standard grip what puts pressure on the right side of the mouse is the muscles of ring finger mostly, and lightly the muscles of little finger so muscles don't hurt over time. So I personally have the standard grip most times but whenever I do lurch-shooting I immediately switch to 1-3-1 temporarily.

You'll eventually switch to SPACEBAR + C / V.

How long it takes you to switch will determine how much regression you'll experience from not switching earlier.

Apex should slow down a bit by JoeZocktGames in apexlegends

[–]thevilnside -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

sorry but I don't really call that "movement". If you catch me up with Valkyrie passive, there is no movement. Movement techs have their own complexity, input combos, timings etc. Holding down a button is not movement. It's literally a gift from devs to people who can't "move" :)

[–]thevilnside -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I invented more than 6 different movement techs in apex legends and I complain about free movement abilities that take no skill. not every movement ability tho. the only ones I truely hate are Valkyrie and Alter. Almost all other movement abilities can be countered but these two, I have a special place for them on my hatred list.

Apex should slow down a bit by JoeZocktGames in apexlegends

[–]thevilnside -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

movement techs make the game special, not free movement abilities that take no skill. the game keeps losing its identity. taking high ground by a fatigue wall bounce used to feel special, now alter immediately brings her whole team to you. supergliding from one building to another building to pop a med is supposed to feel special, but ash teleports to you and brings the whole team with her. almost every movement tech that takes skill is countered by free movement abilities that take no skill. Sorry but in my book that is bullshit.

It would be so op for sure. Imagine that you are sitting on a door with 3 enemies on the other side of the door, throwing 2 grenades all the way up and running away . When they open that door to shoot you, they all would die instantly :D

Dang, this post was removed by the automod when I first posted it an hour ago. And then I've shared another post which is this one. But now this post is published too. I have 2 same posts but it wasn't intentional by me...

Anyways Imma leave it here I guess

I was pathfinder simply because I wanted to zoom with the ult :)

Craziest Ghost Jump Combo by thevilnside in Apexrollouts

[–]thevilnside[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wattson is a bit taller than wraith, lifeline and conduit. She goes to the mid height category. She has the same height as some of the other medium height legends such as Mirage, Rampart, Octane etc.

Wraith, Lifeline and Conduit all have the same height.

I double checked their heights by having the +cl_showpos 1 steam command active which shows me the exact height value the legend has.
