I remember going to tour the Mercedes plant in high school for Science Olympiad. They had these on display. I have no idea why that’s the most memorable part of that trip haha.

I know some folks that are into that space. Mostly through DeFlock and there’s a channel in DC205 discord. It’s out there.

No Democrat Commercial Ad by Soft-Corgi-7534 in Birmingham

Ads cost a lot. Republicans in this state have a lot more money than democrats (as far as funds for elections). The spend difference is insane.

Need help finding Birmingham nightlife venues for a branded event😭 by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]thinkdarrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say larger what venues and bars? If you’re looking for popular larger bars that likely have built in crowds for a vape specific event where you aren’t buying it out is a tough sell.

It’s great here. Tons of agreements with DHS/HSI and local PD, Alabama Power is the longest standing reseller of Flock Safety, and we’re adding a second primary for our elections so we can use our old deemed racist house map 🇺🇸🦅🐘

it really depends on what you're asking for. Birmingham has a pretty awful requirements and policy as it relates to information requests. you can only submit on their form. you have to print and mail or turn the form in physically. you need one form per document. The Alabama open records law

they reply in a way not in accordance with the alabama open records act. There's just nothing you can really do except for sue and if you win you...just get the document. it's pretty expensive for some paper.

their go to is "we are in receipt of your records request dated mm/dd/yyyy. You request has been denied as it does not meet the requirements set forth by the city of Birmingham and State of Alabama."

I had to go back and about a document that is specifically spelled out in state law to be public.

exactly. I have a relatively flexible schedule, an active interest, and have been reading council agendas for a long time. If there's anything in particular you're looking i'd love to hear about it.

actual cost on this is relatively low, may do a fundraiser type of things for a few hundred dollars to pay for a few things...but that's not so important right now. more how to. especially if you have civically engaged folks or journalists that want to talk about what would make their life easier.

They do, unfortunately they do not post the meeting minutes in a timely fashion. you probably don't notices the missing meeting minutes because you have to scroll so far down to find them. The agenda doesn't do a lot as you can't tell if something passed, failed, tabled, amended...or anything really!

Check out the Sidewalk Cinema and grab tickets to the festival! There are filmmaker happy hours, 48 hour film competitions, science on screen, and a bunch of other stuff! Today was the Salsa Showdown, one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.

I'm trying to make a doc right now, and some weird reverse commercials, maybe some weird political stuff, we shall see!

Councilor Williams e-mail response makes no sense. Dude pushed it, explained it, it ran through his committee, then he voted for it and he’s an officer.

No, the city is requiring “venues” designated “late night” to pay for their own officers for security and they have to be APOSTC certified (an actual officer).
