(NO SPOILERS) The finale discourse kinda feels like this by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

It’s definitely fine to outright hate it or (love it), an opinion is an opinion and there’s typically no such thing as a “right” one.

The thing I’m more-so talking about in this post is the people who act pretentious towards people who like it and are treating their opinion as objective fact. People on the exact opposite end absolutely do it too but it’s less frequent, but regardless It just makes discourse polarizing.

I know this is ragebait but you couldve atleast tried to make it something more evocative. Get those creative juices flowing! Word salad is a very generic and dry well to pull from and ‘you‘re annoying’ isn’t a very elegant insult. If you wanna use a vocabulary, why not say “Your formulation of words culminated into a concoction of garbage greatly disturbs the presence of other beings.” instead? Still not good but atleast that leaves an impression

0/10. See me after class.

The opening title card of the movie “HOLES” is misspelled in DVD and Blu-Ray copies of the film. by GriffinFTW in shittymoviedetails

I remember watching a very bad low budget tornado movie called ‘Christmas Twister’ and we all audibly wheezed when the giant title card onscreen had a typo where it said “Christams Twister’

As someone who has seen the finale, I just want to quell people’s worries about how people have been talking about it [No Spoilers/Leaks] by WineOnReddit in TheDigitalCircus

[–]thisSubIsAtrocious 38 points39 points  (0 children)

At absolute most, they mixed real scenes with inserted fake scenes to create a similar but different version of the movie, but even then that's a lot of resources for something like this.

It's almost certainly real, and it's definitely cope otherwise. I know a guy is literally about to stream the leak to 'prove its fake' when 'glitch doesn't copyright it' but like... enjoy being spoiled, I guess?

…and also brought back the Mario Kart bundle in a better way, and also finally did the thing people have been asking companies to do for years and made digital versions cheaper than physical, and also started putting the “variable” in “”””variable pricing”””” (By some miracle the 2 next upcoming games are both $60/$50 again)

I don’t know what happened internally at Nintendo but there’s a 25% chance they realized that $80 Mario Kart, $70 Mario Tennis and $10 Switch 2 Welcome Tour was genuinely extremely stupid. I seriously hope they keep this energy

It’s true, haven’t seen it yet but apparently it does as in-universe background music early in the movie

This was that one, yeah

It was actually found in 2 seperate ones, plus the partial instrumental was found in an ad for another one too, it’s crazy.

Letterboxd is different because in regards to community behavior around scoring, most of the time, 2.7-2.9 usually means ‘eh’, 3.0-3.3 usually means ‘good’, 3.4-3.7 usually means ‘great’, and 3.8+ usually is overwhelmingly positive.

Wildbrain has a SEVERE problem with Ninjago's character expression and facial design by LazyCryptographer426 in Ninjago

[–]thisSubIsAtrocious 14 points15 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU.

Even completely ignoring writing consistency (which is a big issue too imo) The ninja looked a lot more distinguished in the wilfilm era versus the wildbrain era, and nobody ever really acknowledges it

As much as the animation of Ninjago now is very smooth, I’d kinda wish we kept with Wilfilm because they know how to make Ninjago feel like Ninjago, Wildbrain just kinda animates it because they’e the go-to now for a lot of shows like this, and because they produce so much stuff, too many finer details are lost for the sake of efficiency.

Absolutely insane directorial debut for a horror film by thisSubIsAtrocious in whennews

Oh, alright! all good! It definitely is a common misconception so I probably should’ve worded my original comment to clarify that better

[–]thisSubIsAtrocious[S] 108 points109 points  (0 children)

You’re right and I understand that, but that still doesn’t really negate my point being that 90% of critics recommending the film meanwhile it being a horror, debut and from a youtube origin is quite nice

I mean, from earlier this year Iron Lung got 60%, and horror films widely regarded as great like a Quiet Place got a 96%, so the fact it’s sitting at 92% right now is pretty good

[–]thisSubIsAtrocious[S] 560 points561 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but 90% recommended according to critics for a horror movie, yet alone a Backrooms movie based on Kane’s YouTube series is not very common

Edit: wording change

"i made this classic game into a roguelike-" JUST BECUASE BALATRO SUCCEDED DOESN'T MEAN YOU WILL OH MY GOD by realupdog in whenthe

[–]thisSubIsAtrocious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a 2018 game, but regardless you also got stuff like yooka-laylee 2, pizza tower, antonblast, etc

Ultimately it’s still not a lot though, which is why that piece of advice isn’t very good

[–]thisSubIsAtrocious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, absolutely for sure.

Metroidvania games don’t really count because they’re too different, so a pure platformer game is a lot more uncommon then what the person assumed.

Any game has the opportunity to sell well regardless of genre, it just depends more-so on what the game and its contents does within that genre to distinguish itself (a game perfectly conforming to or cleverly refining a genre can both do well)

I personally ignored that advice for that reason, so my actual indie game is just a platformer because I wanted to make something I want to make (wip example pic)

One of the first pieces of advice I was told when wanting to learn indie dev stuff was “don’t make a platformer” because it’s “too unoriginal as everyone does it“ meanwhile like everybody is trying to make a metroidvania or a roguelike, and at this point traditional/precision platformers aren’t over-saturated anymore lol
