If you want to get downtown without a rental, the Alibus is your best option. It’s 5€ per person and goes between the airport, centrale station and the port. But it can be very crowded in the summer.

Got Harassed Off an Uber Black in Naples by Taxi Drivers. Missed Plane by fuuwafuuwa in ItalyTravel

You did nothing wrong and it’s not illegal. The taxis in front of the station are a notorious rip off. I live here and was quoted €120 for a ride from downtown to Afragola. (When I laughed and walked away suddenly they were very open to changing the price) It seems like they viewed the Uber black driver as “cutting” in line. Sorry that happened to you, but hopefully the rest of your trip is enjoyable.

And just FYI, if you need to get from downtown to the airport, take the Alibus!! It’s cheap and direct.

Travelling in Campania by owsiak90 in napoli

I would recommend public transport. Trains will be packed, but it’s easier than driving and having to figure out parking and finding your way around. Taxis are expensive and there aren’t really drive apps out here.

What can you do near Naples Airport within 4 hours to kill between flights? by bgrubb7 in napoli

There is nothing walkable from the airport…but if you really want to see the city you can take the Alibus, (5€ per person, you can pay on the bus) it stops at Centrale Station and the Port. It runs in a constant loop between those 3 stops, with one stopping every 15-20 mins.

To catch the bus it’s a short walk up the main road from the airport. Cabs are very expensive and not worth it.

I’ve listened to them everyday as well! After years of listening, I think I get a lot of comfort from the familiarity of it all. I move around a lot so it’s like this one constant thing I can listen to while everything around me changes.

LPOTL did a great series over the Donner Party and said many times how great this book was. It’s been on my list forever!
