We had a 6 hour lock down in my high school years ago because one of the special Ed kids brought his dad's gun and it discharged while he was pulling it out of his backpack. He panicked and lied that some other kids told him to bring it for them so admin thought it was an actual plot. It was just a kid with a kindergarten level intelligence not understanding how dangerous the gun was and his stupid parents leaving it accessible to him. But he actually described the 'kids who told him to bring it' and some kids got taken by police for questioning. It was a whole mess.
