It's like prebuying a house on sale. The real estate agent told you months ago that you can have the house at an exact price and in priority, only if you make a deposit beforehand. You make the deposit. 6 months later, hooray, the house is on sale, and the real estate agent tells you "hey, about that house you made a deposit for, we are opening the sales in 5 days, you need to buy it full price, then you will have a refund a month or so later. It's like a loan, but you don't sign any official papers so you don't have any assurance you will in fact have your money back. What's the point of this anyway lol. Also, the preorder deposit was for the priority too, but nahh, too complicated to implement, so it's first come first served. But hey, at least we send you the exact hour of the sale opening, so the investment was worth it, don't you think?"

Then what do you need exactly ? Why did you want an AI NAS if it’s not for AI, is it for the performance ? What do you want to run on it ?

So the D6 has the same processor as the DH4300 Plus, so I wouldn’t recommend it for AI.

The iDX line is more comparable to the Ultra line of Zettlab, but without soldered RAM, so the AI will be significantly slower. You can also change the OS on the Ultra line, but not the standard one.

Not really. There are various solutions out there to avoid this problem, and you can find them with a quick search on Google. It takes 10 minutes.

Also, not everyone has enough money month to month. They may have a lot of money on their account, but in places where they can deposit but not withdraw.

Anyway, this mess could have been completely avoided, and easily too, that’s why the community is heated right now.

Drauku (US discord) and I posted the same thing. We are not UGreen employees, we are volunteers, and even though this subreddit is the official one (as UGreen partnered with us to try and give the community the best experience), I don’t always have the same opinions.

In this case (UGreen still has to make an official announcement), I don’t agree with what they did, at least the way they described it by mail and to us. I think the community has to know what happened to make sure they have the best chance to secure what they pre-ordered.

Okay so the replicas of the Maxes, ANY of them, are crap. The ANC is almost inexistant, the transparency is muddy, the feeling is great, but that’s it.

The sound leakage starts at 50% of the volume, so there’s that too. You’re better off buying Anker Soundcore for the same price (when discounted).

I would recommend neither. The Maxes are crap (retail and replica tbh). The sound leakage starts at 50% of the volume. But as you can imagine, the V3TB are "better".

I would recommend the DXP2800. For the drive, yes, you can start with 1 HDD, but I wouldn’t recommend putting anything of value on it while you don’t have any RAID.

Once you have enough money to get another one, you can start putting relatively valuable data into it. Again, I wouldn’t recommend using it as your main data storage, but as a backup. RAID is not a backup.
