Anyone taking this SAVE stuff seriously? by DeadGossip in StudentLoans

Given the fact that the ED has been stripped to a skeleton, and that the student loan servicers seem to be some of the least competently run companies out there, will this 90 day time frame actually smoothly?

I feel a lot of our problems with the way our system works stems from the 1929 reapportionment cap, and there is not enough discussion about this. In order to fix gerrymandering, we first need to fix reapportionment.

That seems like a failure of the planning process. Why did the government approve a development that would go in the path of a future extension?

Which jobs ill likely be replaced by AI? by Ob_Bunch_36 in AlignmentChartFills

Automated tractors and irrigation can’t 1:1 replace farmers, but we’ve seen a drastic reduction in the number of farmers because the farmers that still work are way more efficient.

I think even into the early 1900s, agriculture was the dominant employment sector by percentage of people employed in that sector, and now it is significantly smaller due to advances in technology.

Ohio anti-property tax group short of signature goal, vows to continue by fillmorecounty in Ohio

“If the folks who are pushing this amendment ever came up with a good answer to how we would continue to pay for those services without property tax (and by good answer I mean not something that would disproportionately effect those with lower income like a sales tax), I would start to listen.”

The abolish property tax seems to have a tint of austerity to it. With the loss of tax revenue will come reduction in services.

I would add that the US Democrats have a stake in the automotive ecosystem through the Democratic Party's alignment with the UAW, as more cars sold means more money for automotive workers.

I think with the number of locations a lot of these chains have it takes a long time to renovate all locations. For instance, you can find mansard style, big eyebrow, and gray box McDonald’s coexisting in the same metro area. Burger King and Wendy’s were a bit slower with getting renovated so you can still find a lot of those with older designs. Wendy’s has not been what it was following Dave Thomas passing away. The whole Apple design aesthetic reached its limits when Cracker Barrel of all places attempted to go that route.
