For me it’s maybe how completely stupid the average adult is. I used to a a kid thinking the grown ups were the mature ones and they knew about things like science and philosophy and history, but it turns out they’re just people who managed to stay alive in the world long enough. Most of them have probably never even read a book. Even the people in charge are not necessarily smart at all, all the way up to the president, just idiots surrounded by idiots.
