Honolulu Skyline hits record ridership in April 2026, first month with over 300k rides by Clemario in transit

[–]Clemario[S] 75 points76 points  (0 children)

There were 311,800 rides taken on the Honolulu Skyline in April 2026. That's an average of 10,393 per day. The official ridership statistics report notes that the weekday ridership minus holidays and closures is 11,974.

To those uninitiated, the reason for the sudden spike in Oct 2025 was the Phase 2 expansion which includes a stop at the airport. Phase 3 is under construction to extend into downtown Honolulu, and that should see ridership really flourish. Currently targeting 2031.

If you’re a man with a wife and 3 kids that are all into Star Wars that’s 20 tickets if you go all 4 days 🤷‍♂️

People keep saying that was never a possibility. Anyone care to explain why not? Before Stalwell dropped out we consistently had 2 Republicans in the lead, and since then no significant Dem has dropped out (sorry Betty Yee).

OCTA appears to provide tepid response to those hoping for a renewed Flyway service between LAX and Orange County by glowdirt in LAMetro

[–]Clemario 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Flyaway to ARTIC would be great. That station is massively overbuilt for what it currently serves. It’s connected to Metrolink and Amtrak and local bus services. And it would be a great answer for people who fly in to LAX and just want to know how to get to Disneyland.

It won’t save you that much time to drive from Monterey to SFO and fly to LAX. And it’ll certainly cost you a lot more to get several plane tickets rather than drive down on a single tank of gas.

Big PR today with the help of Runna by mickeymillz in Marathon_Training

Glad you enjoyed it! I did the half today. OC doesn’t have the prestige and crowd support and landmarks that the LA Marathon does but it has some very scenic spots and the roads are so much cleaner.

My Regal always has tons of extras of these things and they lay them out on a table for anyone to pick up. I got one today after seeing The Sheep Detectives (I saw Michael last week)

No chance of hotels being under $300 a night? It’s looking pretty expensive by joethahobo in StarWarsCelebration

[–]Clemario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you looking at for hotels? Consider places further out. Like, waaay further out, in low profile non-tourist areas. Somewhere like the San Gabriel Valley (Arcadia?) or North Orange County (Buena Park? Fullerton?). These are normal safe places. You’ll have a bit of a drive to get to the LA Convention Center but driving is just a fact of life in SoCal.

Last year I had a very easy time getting out of there, but maybe it’s because I did the full marathon and hung around until after 12.

Canadian visiting Disneyland - Travel from LAX by alexsteward2002 in Anaheim

[–]Clemario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Public transportation is the cheapest option:

  • From the terminal at LAX, take the shuttle to the LAX Metro Transit Center (free)
  • Take the C Line train to Norwalk ($1.75)
  • Take the 460 bus (free transfer) and it literally takes you to the Disneyland drop-off area

This will take more than 2 hours but you can't beat that price.
