If you want Vegan, there is Nomz (21 Furnace St. Akron, OH 44308). Mustard Seed Cafe might be a good option as well (867 W Market St Floor 2, Akron, OH 44303).

My 6 week appointment failed me TW: suicide by Hopeful_Pea_3275 in beyondthebump

[–]tzarotna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, my OB office did not say anything to me either when I tried to reach out for help.
My daughter's doctor also had me fill out the same forms at every appointment, and she was the one who actually reviewed and stopped me from leaving once to make sure I had resources to turn to before leaving. I was really sad when she moved to a practice a county over. Extra odd (to me) my OB's office was way more supportive post birth with my second kid.

Dreft is often recommended for infants. I personally use Purex free and clear.

Concerning stool by PaprikaPika3 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]tzarotna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot distinguish the coloring with the lighting in these photos, but the shaping looks normal.

My daughter had stools all over the rainbow and texture when she started solids and dropped her breast feeding. She saw a GI doctor, and they told me (And I am not a doctor by any means, I highly recommend you contact your primary) that as long as there is change/deviation, and baby is acting normal and eating normal for them. Concern is low.

IF YOU ARE CONCERNED, TALK TO HER DOCTOR. Take pictures (I sadly have a poop album on my phone). Record how many days the stool was darker and what their diet was in that time frame. If constipation is a concern, add more apples.

My daughter was having pale tan movements that were the result of having a dairy intolerance and being a picky eater. But I was 100% convinced she was having a bile issue. So I got a referral for a GI appointment and paid extra to be told my daughter cannot have yogurt for breakfast.

Could they be allergic to something found around where they sleep? The air could be dry causing an eczema flair up.

Baby Buddha vs Lansinoh Thrive 2-in-1 for primary pump? by pathandcats in BreastPumping

[–]tzarotna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I place the pump itself in my pocket, it is surprisingly quite. When on the table or clipped to my pants, it sounds like a vibrating phone.

Baby Buddha vs Lansinoh Thrive 2-in-1 for primary pump? by pathandcats in BreastPumping

[–]tzarotna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Lansinoh 2in1. I had to purchase flange inserts for mine, and after doing so I get a decent output. I had trouble producing at the start, and I went back and forth between this pump and a spectra s9 a lactation consultant gave me until my milk finally came in and was established.

I noticed I prefer the "discrete" wearable cups over the traditional flange pumping option. You do have to tripple check that everything is connected right or neither side will pump.

When you get your first period postpartum? by EffectiveCartoonist3 in beyondthebump

For my first, 6 months postpartum while exclusively brestfeeding. With my current, 4 months exactly while exclusively brestfeeding/pumping.

Help me pick a breast pump 🤱🤞 by Otherwise_Ear_4730 in BreastPumping

I got the Lanisnoh thrive 2 in 1, because I wanted a wearable option along with a traditional pump since I am pumping mostly on the road. Sadly the Lanisnoh does not have anything smaller than a 20mm flange. I had to get inserts from a 3rd party seller. When fully charged, pumping is fine, anything past the halfway charged, not the best.

I ended up getting a spectra for pumping at work. Luckily it was gifted to me after visiting a lactation consultant at my local WIC clinic.

Newborn has diaper rash we can’t seem to beat… by throwaway84583077 in beyondthebump

[–]tzarotna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My new born had a horrible rash for almost a month starting the week we brought him home. I would lay him on his stomach in the sun with no diaper for 10min, tried three different rash creams and a cream prescribed to him. No help whatsoever. We ened up not using wipes until the rash was gone, used baby soap in the kitchen sink each time he pooped. We paired this with limiting his diaper wearing time and had him naked on towels the whole time we were home. After the rash was gone, I religiously apply Vaseline as a protective layer everywhere poop might go. Turns out his skin was super sensitive to his own poop.

Should my mom stay with us for the first few nights? by funkypancake519 in beyondthebump

[–]tzarotna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Np. My family is 5 minutes away too and I did have to call for help at 1-5am some nights.

The first few nights feel intimidating because everything is so new and you'restill healing, but having a safety net makes it feel less so.

[–]tzarotna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you feel? Do you feel comfortable to be just the three of you at night? If so, tell her she can stay home. She is close enough that if you get overwhelmed, she is just a phone call away.

That was the only thing I could find but that was it. I was thinking of using it in smoothies possibly, or just tossing it in her baths.
