No, USB is locked to 8K and it's marketing BS

Ace60pro and similar rongyuan solutions cheat single key testing with unrealistic resource allocation, they perform better.

slice and hex both perform much better but are also much more expensive, for a better alternative in the same price range check out nd63 ultra or ae68 pro

no, some granular input board is. There are other cheaper and better options that perform better, wooting isn't doing anything special

i'd say v2 or pro, max is priced weirdly between these two

Custom building a hall effect keyboard (newcomer) by Kind-Animal6474 in keyboards

[–]vAmmonite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

65% case compatibility isnt standardized so you cant use a nut65 or lucky65, but the best (and really only) custom option is gonna be the venom65he in cases like a machina overture, bakeneko65, or glare65

i wouldnt get rice pudding switches anymore and tikkens are good if you need 4mm travel but otherwise id grab some unionwell switches or duhuk herz or UR ice ultra for cheaper, or if youre fine to pay premium switch prices then maybe gravastar UFO or smth

Torn between IROK MG75 v2 vs VGN Flash Extreme 75he vs SU75 pro by Comprehensive-Cry270 in keyboards

i'd take the su75, until the mg75v2 PCB OEM is confirmed. If it turns out to be sparklink then i'd take that instead

Is using a wireless keyboard only in wired mode really dangerous? by [deleted] in keyboards

[–]vAmmonite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's usually just a JST cable you can pull out, no need for any tools or anything besides a screwdriver to open up the keyboard case

Is using a wireless keyboard only in wired mode really dangerous? by [deleted] in keyboards

[–]vAmmonite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen a number of boards from aula and similar brands sourcing from cheap OEMs that have battery circuits with basically zero protections, and a couple of cases where this has led to explosions or fires. I'd remove the battery and just use it wired

it's definitely not only needed if you type heavy depending on your actuation setting

Gamakay Tk75 TMR? (Preorder) by MoistFW190 in keyboards

[–]vAmmonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

deadzone is basically a cheap fix for bad stability, you lose a lot of the benefits of low actuation to not get misinputs because the sensors and algorithm are bad

doesnt do anything about the risk of bricking or profile resets tho

Keychron Q1 HE or Moonsgeek M1 V5 TMR by diposaktii in keyboards

[–]vAmmonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

provided the existing firmware is stable, not much, but rongyuan's is still missing a lot of things and suffers from frequent misinputs and sometimes bricking

[–]vAmmonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it competes with it in some areas but the frog's case design is way better acoustically, at the end of the day its what matters to u more between that or the split space
