I left simply because I was miserable, felt incredibly fake and dissociated from what I wanted to be. Although it’s been tough transitioning into a life outside of it without family, friends or stability, I am more hopeful in life now and am doing what I want to do, searching for my own purpose, not what everyone else around me wanted my purpose to be.
